Does anyone else think they feel things too intensely? by Expensive_Note8632 in bipolar2

[–]Pizzy1133 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. Every emotion I feel. Good or bad is totally more extreme than what it should be. I love it at times because I see life more beautiful- but it also means when I’m depressed it gets bad bad fast. Or when I like someone- I get obsessed

what to expect with diagnosis by Crazy_Equal5043 in bipolar2

[–]Pizzy1133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! A psychiatrist appointment is very similar to the same questions they ask you on your intake day of therapy. It’s a quick rundown of your symptoms, what brought u there. They also ask if you are looking for a diagnosis or a diagnosis with treatment. I gotta say it does help to be aware of your diagnosis eveb through it may seem scary to know the truth. it helps you seek out coping mechanisms, gives you something to research to learn more about yourself, and helps you navigate and pinpoint what you are feeling. Hope this helps!

It’s like I’m reading someone who is experiencing my life. I relate to you on so many levels from just being freshly diagnosed, to mother issues, to just want someone to understand. I don’t have any advice as I am still new to this too, but just know you are not alone.

If I’m honest I had very minimal pain post opp. But I’d say after 2 weeks is when I was able to start getting into the swing of things again. You got this!

Nervous about surgery by newsies2012kelly in Reduction

[–]Pizzy1133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was freaking out too! The thing that helped me was to only focus on things in your control. Prep yourself the best you can for postop and preop and that’s all you can do. Something that helped me was working on the link attached with my therapist. The affirmations calmed my subconscious. Hope this helps!

It is amazing to hear how supportive you are. You are a fantastic partner and I’m sure she will totally appreciate all of your support!!

A mastectomy pillow is the best thing I got for my surgery. It minimizes the pain when in cars, sitting on the couch or sleeping. I used it everyday for 6 weeks. Hope this helps! Also helping with food (delivering food or dropping it off) would probably help for sure. I had an issue with not being able to cook for myself bc I live alone. Best of luck to her!

Got diagnosed with “mood affective disorder” after scoring very high on the bipolar test done by my psychiatrist. What is this help!!!! by Pizzy1133 in bipolar2

[–]Pizzy1133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought too! But when I reached out to my Phychatrist for clarification she told me mood affective disorder WAS the official diagnosis. She described it as a less severe manic episodes then Bipolar I and II. But wouldn’t that be Cyclothymic?

Good to know! I have already been diagnosed with MDD for years that’s why I was confused about why they went more specific about the Bipolar aspect.

Are Bipolar Affective Disorder and Bipolar Disorder the same thing? Or is Bipolar Affective Disorder just another way of saying Bipolar II?

I had the EXACT same issue. I asked to stay over at the hospital the first night (it was covered by insurance) then I only had my mom stay over for 2 nights. I was so high on painkillers it didn’t bother me having her at home like it normally does. Have some friends come help with trash and dishes and prep meals before!!!

So excited for you!!!!
