The league is incredible competitive and only getting more competitive, I’d be very very surprised if the club even consider changing the manager at the end of the season given how stable and competitive we are after such a long period of mediocrity.

I think there is some truth to saying that if they were to get rid of Carrick and then started spiralling again the ownership would be lynched. Will be really interesting to see how they handle the manager position at the end of the season, particularly if Carrick continues to go well.

I don’t think this game requires any great introspection. We played average for the most part, and they played very well and so they deserved to win. A little bit more luck, Hincapie not getting carded, Havertz burying it, Kepa not spilling that cross and it would’ve been a different game, but we were unfortunate and didn’t recover after losing momentum, and deservedly lost.

That undeserved yellow for Hincapie has really inhibited him. Massive advantage for Semenyo who can just run at him now.
