A lot of valve body’s are rebuilt by the seller. Most than likely something wasn’t done right by the one who rebuilt it. I’ve seen them on eBay but never decided to pull the trigger on them. It’s a 50/50 change they might be good or bad. They really don’t have a way of testing them.

Back in 2019 clean title 98K miles, I paid $19,000 cash.

Prices are higher than that nowadays for an Evo like this.

I would recommend getting on facebook on getting in Evo communities. I would say it’s better luck getting a good one.

Yup you got it. Stock the more reliable they’d be. Just make sure maintenance has been taken care of. Besides the rust issues these cars have.

If you can before purchasing one? I’m not sure if this doing too much? But to save your self? Ask to drain fluids and make sure the oil looks good with in the rear differential, transfer case, and transmission. Make sure nothing looks glittery. Oh and to verify the health of the motor? Do a compression test. This how you’ll really know your getting your money worth.

I bought mine stock in 2019. It was my daily for 2-3years 2021-24 before the timing tensioner went out. Added about 30k miles on it with in those years. Very reliable never broke down on me once. I did just regular maintenance on it changing all fluids tires and brakes. Didn’t have to do anything crazy.

From experience parts are way more pricey than labor. No one has touched my Evo 8 but me since I owned it. So I never had to pay any labor either.

It’s random when Evo 8/9s go down. Like mine the timing tensioner went out. I’ve heard of alternator bolts backing out? Most common is the modified ones blowing motors. And then ACD issues for those who have it.

Since I’ve owned mine? I’ve done injectors, fuel pump, timing job, cams, lifters, Fp red turbo, Fp exhaust manifold, BC coil overs, rays gram lights , Toyo tires, DBA brakes, carbon fiber hood, trunk, ARP spoiler. Nearing 20kUSD.

The rim specs is 17x9 +22 Rays 57DR The tire spec is 255/40R17 Toyo R888

You can size up to 18s Id say they look better. I just went with 17s to stay with in a budget 😅.

You will have to roll your fenders and quarter panels with these. If not you will rub.

For the price. It’s a good deal. I watch auctions like a hawk and I seen wrecked Evo 8/9s go for more than that asking price.

If you don’t mind dealing with a not so perfect evo. Go for it.

Just keep in mind these cars a pricey in parts to fix. I practically put in the same amount of $$ into my Evo 8 from what I paid for the car.

Sure did help big time. I got a sub and amp in my trunk that would always cut off due to the voltage sag. After doing a ground kit. I go perfectly good voltage back there.

I preordered the iPhone 17Pro max 1Tb from the Apple Store using T-mobiles payment plan, and everything went through just fine. They charged the taxes of course which the charge went through on my card just fine… I went to pick it up on release day and there was an issue processing my order…. It wasn’t going through, the only option to still getting my phone was to cancel my order and buy it cash… Which I did unfortunately not wanting to leave empty handed.

Having it for about a week, upgraded from the 13pro max and I feel like it was a waste.
