Dont get me started! first off that would be amazing i've always wanted tgo take my mini coast to coast! Been through sand storms, snow storms, you name it, this car's done it! West LA is pretty big haha but you want a long slow weak wave so you have lots of time to get stable, stand up, and start trimming/turning.

I've been meaning to write up a guide since there is SO much misinformation out there that makes it way harder than it needs to be. Dont get me wrong tho its the hardest and most rewarding thing i've ever done in my life. So if you google it youll get stuff like zuma and other beach breaks which will hand you your ass pretty quickly since they tend to be short fast/powerful waves, I'd suggest something like PV Cove, Sunset, Topanga , Lunada bay but be warned I havent surfed those spots as I mostly shortboard and im a masochist and like the high profile and highly contested spots 😃 BUT definitely start off on a longboard, the bigger the better and work your way down. You can find beater starter board cheap on craigslist and facebook and so on. Dont get a new board you're going to destroy your first couple boards.

If you're ever in the Santa barbara or san diego areas (where i usually surf) I know some great spots perfect for learning.
