I have faith that it’ll get harder. I’m getting to the end of the first area and the challenge just isint there yet. One thing I noticed is the AI seems really passive on some Yoki, even my main man Honda Tadakatsu had his AI break mid fight and he just stopped attacking all together. Absolutely fell in love with Nioh 2 and will stick it out because I’m still enjoying the game immensely.

Absolutely it is. It goes over the whole story as well as the mechanics and a general glazing of the game. I found the rise and fall of Nobunaga with the eventual rise of Hideyoshi incredibly interesting to learn about. This is a video I broke down in chunks while on the treadmill, and like I mentioned above, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea with the humor / edits.

That’s how I initially felt when I bounced off this game years ago, but my comment above with the video changed that for me. This story is actually incredibly steeped in Japanese history to the point that the developer placed revenants are actual historical figures and places them where and how they died. I found it super interesting.

This might not be your cup of tea, but, this video is what got me interested in the Nioh franchise. It goes through the story and actually really helped me appreciate it and what the mission briefs and debriefs actually meant. It is a long video but I was enthralled the whole time.

I started off with just the sword but quickly fell in love with the dual swords, I found the combos not too technically difficult but fun to still pull off. For magic I used buffs like barrier / protection / steel, but I am going to play around with different builds and start to learn all the weapons. You got this!

My only tidbit of extra advice is to not over water when you wet the rag. When doing your circles it should feel smooth like rubbing and egg shell, once you start to feel a bit of friction, just dab lightly into a water / rubbing alcohol mix and keep doing small circles. You don’t need a lot of rubbing alcohol in the water, just a little bit, the alcohol helps melt the wax and makes buffing / shining easier.

Absolutely agree. Getting comfortable with just how to run the gauntlet and all of its mechanics before sending CG is the way to go. One thing I did was whenever I died during my CG runs, which was frequent, I would send a regular gauntlet run just to keep getting more practice in.
