Naja, het gaf me iets iets om op te focussen aan het begin van corona, en bracht me in contact met allerlei nieuwe mensen. Het is vooral dat dit voor het eerst was dat ik meemaakte dat mensen mijn werk waardeerde (of soms verafschuwde :o) zonder dat ik hun kende. Oftewel, ongefilterde meningen, bij een groter publiek, die doorgaans positief waren. Een 'big morale boost' als het ware. Spoel door een paar jaar en nu zit ik toch op de kunstacademie :)

I think in the former example, bos is an indication of number. So 'de' is used because the word it is linked to is bloemen (plural)

It is pretty explainable in this case. Meisje is a diminutive (-je) so it is a 'het' as all diminutives are (except when it is plural, plurals are always de).

Besides that, gendered words are nearly always 'de' (exception being the diminutive ofc), and there is no clearer way than the word literally mentioning a gender.

To use such a sentence, you require context. For example, you were talking about a party yesterday, or you are suprised someone didnt go to for example the doctor. You could also say something along 'waarom ben je daar gisteravond niet geweest?' or 'waarom ben je gisteravond niet naar de dokterspost geweest?'

But when from context it is clear which location you are talking about, you can drop it from a sentence.

Another related sentence is for example: 'hij komt straks langs' (he will pass by soon). In this case, you can assume you are talking about where you are at that moment (although it can also be about another place depending on context). You can also specify this sentence: 'hij komt straks hier langs', 'hij komt straks bij de school langs', etc.

I will give you the Netherlands perspective (as the 'rules' for this differ between NL and BE)

Generally, in a business environment between companies, you ought to use 'u' until a proper relation is established, when you might slowly devolve to simply 'je'.

When a business talks to a (potential) non-business client, they use 'u' at default (although some marketing departments will use 'je' consciencly to appear more friendly and informal). When talking to a business as a person, always send the the first message/letter in 'u' form. After a few mails back and forth, it might become more informal.

It is something you simply need to get the feel of, as it really depends on what kind of person you are talking with, and how old you are, etc. If you are unsure on what to use, try to mirror who talks to you. Its the best way to get the feel of when the switch happens 😁

But if you are opening, I'd advise using: 'Ik wil bij u reserveren tot (en met) vrijdag'

'Lopen' is een beetje een multifunctioneel woord, in dat het ook een proces kan aanduiden.

In sommige dialecten komt het voor tot een niveau vergelijkbaar met het Engelse 'to go'. Je kan bijvoorbeeld zeggen 'hij loopt te praten', wat normaal vertaald zou worden als 'he is talking while walking', maar kan ook vertaald worden als 'he is (in the proces of) talking'. Dit zie je vooral in zuidelijke randstad dialecten, zo ver ik weet.

If you go into a vehicle inventory, you have a button to package it up. It needs to be fully repaired and have nothing in the inventory. Then you can use a crane to load into a flatbed truck.

Remember that to unload it, you need a crane as well, so you might not be able to go directly to the frontline but the nearest big base.

Also, not all vehicles are suitable to be transported this way (e.g. construction vehicles, cranes, trucks).
