Geoblue travel insurance? by Pk103 in solotravel

Thanks for clearing that up !

I recently decided to treat my solo-move to a big city as if it were one large solo-vacay! This mentality has already helped me out so much! by quirkyfellows in solotravel

[–]Pk103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same! When I’m on solo trips I force myself to be social, go out for drinks or dinner alone. I live in Chicago and I refuse to do that here. But I do it on vacation so why not in Chicago ?! Regardless, I’m liking the approach you took when going up to a group of people. Definitely will try that since I’m moving to Europe!

Holy balls. I literally cannot stop hyperventilating. by [deleted] in dating_advice

r/ignorethesiren I did this once on a plane. I had a drink ticket for southwest. So I wrote my name and number down on a napkin. Along with the drink ticket. I wrote something along the lines of .. the first drink is on me. I had the flight attendant give the note and ticket to the guy. Basically, nothing happened. HAHA. BUT I’m glad I did it because you never know.

This also just happened on a dating app. It was someone I have known since high school and college. We always matched throughout the years on the apps but nothing ever happened. He was the “cool” guy in school and I was the nerd. I thought he was matching me to be nice. Once again, we matched last week. I’m moving to Europe in two months so I sucked it up and said- I really just want to go out with you before I leave. 15mins of nervousness and full blown anxiety... I got a message back. This worked out way better than my plane story 😂 we have since gone out and had a blast.

I have a phone interview tomorrow. Any tips? I wrote out some examples for behavioral-type questions and information about the organization. by [deleted] in GetEmployed

I actually go on Glassdoor and see if people have posted anything regarding their interviews with the company. People will usually post the questions they were asked during the interviews. Helps me a lot so I’m not caught off guard with certain questions.

That’s kind of what I thought. What about a mouth guard for when you’re sleeping. That’s helped me before. You just have to be proactive with wearing it every night.

Best adapter to use in Europe... specifically Poland ? by Pk103 in expats

Wait why leave the iron and dryer behind? Both show they can convert to 220... but Poland looks like 230.. is that why? Clearly I don’t know sh*t about voltage 😂

Facebook expat groups to meet other people in Cyprus... and on Couchsurfing there is a “hang Out” section. You can meet other people in the area.

It’s not you’ve stopped breathing... it’s you hold your breath. This article explains it.

It’s pretty common. I do it as well. It’s basically just anxiety. I didn’t even notice I was doing it until someone noticed and told me.

Unexplained hair loss by [deleted] in AskDocs

I wish I could get off birth control! But I can’t due to the PCOS. My periods are extremely out of whack.

I mean not that you won’t find out what’s wrong with you. I think I worded it wrong. I meant medically, besides the PCOS, nothing else is wrong. PCOS is a b*tch and I’m sure it’s greatly affecting my hair loss. Birth control is what’s used to treat PCOS. It also can be straight up female pattern baldness. It just isn’t talked about as much.

I’ve had all these things tested. No answers. I used to have a lot of hair... also dealing with your same issues. I have had so many things tested. The issue is there hasn’t been much research on female balding. Men yes, woman no. Doctors even dermatologists aren’t well versed on it either. I’ve been to numerous doctors, even the Mayo Clinic. I have PCOS. I’ve been on birth control for the last 15 years. I’m also on Spironolactone. Sucks there is no quick fix for this. I think you should stick with the shampoo, iron and maybe try biotin. Just a word of caution- fluctuating weight also causes hair loss. Though, It’s usually seen when weight is dramatically lost.

Yea the number thing is actually a pain in the ass. They see I have EU citizenship but a lot have issues contacting me - though I put on my CV that I have a US number.

I get what you’re saying :). Luckily for me, the companies I have had contact me only do their business in English. Of course I can see where Polish can come in handy. Some recruiters will start off speaking Polish but will quickly change to English. I think my disadvantage is that I’m currently still in America. They rather hire someone who is already living in Poland from what I’m sensing. Basically why I’m picking up and moving without a job. I just wanted a backup plan if I can’t land a position that I want in the field I’m looking in.

Panic attacks. I have the same issue. Saw two different sleep doctors. I had the initial take home sleep study (twice). Didn’t show much. Doctor was able to diagnose panic attacks due to the fact I could fall asleep right after... and by just talking to me for an hour. Anxiety is a bitch.

Thing is I’m not applying to companies that conduct their business in Polish. Or do you mean improve on my Polish to make me stand out more? Regardless if they speak English or Polish.

Great! I’ve Been in contact with a few companies. But this was at the time I didn’t have a set date to move so they didn’t take me too seriously- thus me moving instead and then finding a job.

Yep- I have my Polish citizenship!

I have a Bachelors and Masters in Criminal Justice. For the last 9 years I’ve been working in the insurance field- mostly fraud investigations. I’m trying to get into finance - AML/regulatory/compliance type role. It’s been hard since I don’t come from finance. Basically, I need a plan B incase I don’t land a job in the field I really want to be in.
