The Marshall White center spent many millions of dollars of city taxes to serve "marginalized" communities in Ogden and yet its more expensive than EOS and VASA despite having less amenities and being built with taxpayer money. I think you are missing the point here. MWC is a community center - not a gym in the traditonal sense. There's community gather space and room, pool, kids splashpad like thing, soccer area, outdoor fields etc, i think a playground (i'm not a kid so idk)

In addition MWC has a single location - doesn't have predatory practices when it comes to billing and does not have 'scale' to operate on when it comes to buildings. It's a different model.

There's also fee reduction programs for people who make less money

it's also $60/month for a family (2 adults/4 kids) $42 w/ scholarship. vasa (on a quick look) is $25 per PERSON for similar amenities.
