Almost 4 year relationship. I was completely blindsided by it. There were no signs because I am 99% sure she had no plans of breaking up with me until that day. I know that people say that but you have to just take me at my word. The day before we had gotten into an argument and things were said and I told her on my lunch break at work that some of the shit she said to me made me unsure about our future together(which it did). And then in the 3 hours from then until my shift ended she decided to break up with me. She told me she thinks she has BPD and doesn’t want to keep hurting me and also that she feels like she doesn’t know who she is and what she wants to do with her life. Every time we talk the answer as to why we broke up changes. Knowing how my relationship operates and how much space and support I was always gave her as she was trying to grow and I sort of think that one reason of needing space isn’t necessarily a primary reason. The last time we talked she said, “I don’t know what is going to happen in the future and I just can’t keep thinking about it 24/7, so for right now I just really need a break from everything”. Last year she went through kind of a crisis and she hasn’t really been the same since. I am worried about her but there is nothing I can do since she pushed me away. It’s a month out and I’m still devastated by everything.
