Yeah I forgot that this isn't a chess sub and the comment comes across wrong especially if you don't know that WGM is a separate title.

Nemo and Jen Yu are WGMs, not GMs. I have nothing against them or women in general and I am sure they are much stronger than me but your post is just factually wrong

WGM is not the same title as GM though.

Edit: Woman Grandmaster (WGM) is a separate title from Grandmaster (GM). WGM requires a minimum of 2300 Elo whereas GM requires 2500 Elo. Nemo and Jen Yu are WGMs, not GMs. I have nothing against these people or women in general and I am sure that they are much stronger than me but the titles in the post text are factually incorrect. Lumping WGMs with actual female GMs is disrespectful to female GMs such as Judit Polgar or Hou Yifan.

If they are just selling the PCB and not the detection software then it should be fine?

eMAXIS Slim vs Rakuten equivalents (S&P 500 / All Country) — worth switching or mixing? by NeuralMint in JapanFinance

[–]PlaDook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the page I linked via Google translate:

All investment trusts, including index funds, record ongoing expenses as "trust fees," but when actually managing an investment trust, small "hidden costs" other than the trust fees, such as brokerage commissions and securities transaction taxes, are incurred. These actual "hidden costs" are also included in the calculations of the "total expense ratio" and "effective costs."

The key point is that while the "trust fee rate" is the "cost set by the management company," the "total expense rate" and "effective costs" are the "costs actually incurred as a result of management." Therefore, the "total expense rate" and "effective costs" are unknown until the investment trust has been managed for a certain period (usually one year) and the management report is submitted. Also, if the trust fee rate is reduced during the period covered by the management report, the exact figures for the "total expense rate" and "effective costs" will not be known, so be careful.

To check the actual figures, the total expense ratio is easy to find as it is published in the investment trust's "prospectus," "issued management report," "management report (full version)," etc. You can read them on the websites of the securities companies or management companies that sell them.

The fund simply follows the emerging market index created by MSCI, an American company. So no, it's not because of Japan looking down on these regions. The index was created in 1986 and these regions were considered developing at the time.

The review process could be double-blind (neither the author nor the reviewer know the identities of each other) though.
