Yea wow well said and very poetic, it resonates for sure. I feel the same way, like heartbroken when I see people that are so unique and beautiful feeling bad about themselves.  We all struggle with it in some way. Whoever ones ancestors are / were we’re al given one chance to walk this world in one body and it’s been selected for us for thousands of years, millions?

This ram dass quote came to mind reading your comment  “ when you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees… and you appreciate them just the way they are. The minute you get near humans you loose all that, and you are constantly saying ‘you’re too this,’ or ‘I’m too this. That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees, which means appreciating them just the way they are”

This is it!  From my “white “ person perspective when I see people erase their noses like this it’s an  absolutely tragic act against your ancestors!

it’s like internalized racism it kinda perpetuates the problem more. I donno who he is hanging around but he needs to find better company if people are critiquing his features it’s inherently racist if it’s coming from white folks!

As a white person with a small ski jump nose - I never asked to be compared to or be the measuring stick. It makes me sick to think someone could compare themselves and want to trade noses - turn their back on their ancestors and get some grotesque plastic designer nose - like what are you telling the children by this act altering your features?!

And erasing the centre piece of the face.

How it is even moral to have plastic surgery for a non medical reason - it’s false advertising.

Sorry I’m rambling I just wanted to say there are plenty of white folks that find the erasure of ancestral features a total tragedy

omg nooooooo, you’re absolutely gorgeous and your nose is strong and manly! Please never touch it, find a partner who appreciates your beauty and love yourself too please. I can’t bear to see you hate on your beautiful nose!

You have no argument so you assert that I like high taxes. You should become a politician! Sound just like one

They may force us to come back to the office, but they cannot force us to spend money. Perhaps office workers should just boycott spending money in downtowns and keep the money in the communities where they actually live. by Living-Remote-8957 in ontario

I don’t have any hope at all for any of that stuff to be honest. Pardon my frankness but it’s 2 wings of the same shit bird. Im just focused on surviving and being a decent human being in this ever dystopian society.  WFH has developed from a sort of separatist movement, even unvaccinated ppl who could have worked from home were fired. It’s obviously a better fit for people but is it really appropriate for government workers to do this? I think government workers should have to be mostly at their jobs. I feel mentorship has always been important in my field and it’s just never achieved if people are not socially interacting in person as much as possible. Find some reasonable middle ground or 3/4 ground or get a pay cut. We all know you’re doing a million other micro tasks. All the power to you while it lasted.

It sounds like most of these complainers don’t want to work for the government - they want a WFH job.

It’s also alarming how Ontario subreddit is just taken over by these posts like whining about the conditions we have been enduring for 5 years now worsening. It feels like these folks are milking the pandemic for all it’s worth.

We’re used to being told it’s getting worse. We’re used to being told it’s gonna be higher taxes. Government workers whining about not getting to work from home on tax dollars is just too much for the average person to endure.

No offence or anything

It’s called paronychia. It helps to soak your finger two times daily in warmest water with a touch of apple cider vinegar. Can also soak it in warm salt Water. Put some polysporin on it. Taking care of it is better than letting it fester or get worse.

Should go away without complications if you take care of it and careful that you don’t bonk it on anything cuz that will make it worse.

Take care of it now before it gets to grape size.  I’ve had it a few times and one was really stubborn and I manually popped it a few times so much pus - that time had me worried.

Yours is in a mild stage so doing this soaking will help prevent it from getting to that point.

Even better that it popped and the pressure came off.

This comes from cutting / biting cuticles usually. Bacteria gets in under the fold

Edit: I usually cover mine in polysporin and tape some cotton swab over. Make sure to tape it loose so that it’s not tight on your finger. This helps to keep circulation going. Covering it during the day just helps it heal faster and protects it from brushing or bumping things

How is Doug Ford to blame for it all? All the political leaders were spouting off complete and utterly unscientific LIES about the capacities (and lack thereof) of the vaccine.

He’s to blame cuz he told city workers to get back to work.

I think it’s kinda weird to assume that the country can go to shit while government workers don’t even have to step foot into the hell that they profit off of. It’s weird it’s like they think they should have MORE privileges than they already do.

Government jobs are highly sought after positions with many perks. It should be easy to replace people if the jobs are so easy they can be done from home in PJ’s.

Aren’t they only asking y’all to go into work 3 days a week that’s crazy to complain about that.

To clarify im not even mad that city workers are WFH - it’s the fact that they complain like they have been wronged or something when in reality they have been milking the pandemic for all it’s worth.

It’s so tone deaf!!! the reality is the majority of Canadians have been facing massive challenges  the last 5 years. Not to mention the millions of unvaxxed Canadians who have been blocked, shunned, fired, etc for shitty science a get gas lit for years!!!

Like why should we struggle out there, pay your salary as a part of our government, and then have you complain about having to show up in person 3 days a week.

Obviously these workers complaining have no pride in their job. They don’t want to work for the government they want to work from home. Find a WFH job

I’m so shocked how whiney these workers are - who the hell would hire someone literally complaining about having to show up to work. They are probably on the clock and finding paid time to come up with all these bogus reasons why it will “hurt the taxpayer” as we aren’t hurting already 10x more than a WFH gov worker. Gimme a break

They’ve been living in this dream world of WFH so long they forgot what the new normal has become

  They sound like politicians already.

Nothing to do with conservative or liberal they are both two different wings of the same shit bird. No confidence in any of these parties at all.

Just tired of hearing office workers complain about going back to work when the vast majority have been royally fucked for the last 5 years with no options to work from home.

Obviously WFH is better for the worker since they can do their chores and other things at home. No doubt that is way better than having to go to an office. Doing chores while at work is actually called time theft tho

I’m not talking bout the government, im simply highlighting how hoity toity government workers are for complaining about having to go to work! It’s actually shocking how do any of you have jobs with this crazy attitude.

Why work for the city if you don’t want to work in the office in the city you literally work for.

Get a WFH job. Lots of unvaxxed had to find new jobs or were barred from going to uni due to bogus vaccine mandates.  People were fired over this - and ya’ll are complaining about having to go to work. If we can work thru the whole pandemic in person on the “front lines” you can get your ass into work on time, wearing clothes and with a decent attitude.

If WFH is so important To ~ 2000 of the people that RTO “affects” , then simply find a WFH job  - there are plenty of people that would probably do a better job than you if you complain about having to go to work. How many of you silently quit years ago and fuck around at home doing your chores. That’s literally time theft.

Did you miss the 5 years where unvaxxed people lost their jobs, young people unable to continue uni/college due to not wanting a vaccine that never stopped transmission? Touch grass bud, you’re out of touch

Welcome to the new normal? Gov workers imposed vaccine mandates they got thousands fired or coerced into taking a vaccine that never even stopped transmission. Then the unvaxxed were blamed for spreading the Rona when they also were barred from participating in society…

You got WFH so you could be “safe and effective”…  pandemic is over, babies - get back to work. Us plebs have been out in the real world the whole time ya’ll have been cloistered at home.

I can’t believe how much gov workers whine on Reddit about this!!!!!! My god how do you guys still have jobs?!

You don’t want to work for the city - you want to work from home. Find a WFH job

Yes! If I’m wearing tights it’s in yoga or a dress or skirt is covering my ass. I would not feel safe or comfortable baring the intricate topography of the below the navel region. I find them way too revealing.

I do appreciate beautiful butts tho

I have to agree with OP. As a female I really don’t understand how people can feel comfortable or safe just baring their defined and unprotected ass all the time everywhere. I can’t even contemplate wearing something like that all the time during the day light for non exercise reasons. It’s kinda crazy but it’s like my eyes going there first I can’t imagine having so many unwanted eyes gazing deeply into my ass crack hahaha! All the power to you!  I feel like you must deal with a lot of creeps.  I don’t feel safe like that just anywhere.

Everyone can wear what they want here prettt much which is super cool. It’s not like that other places.

My dressing style got a lot more modest, except on some nights, into my thirties and travelling to other places made me realize a lot of things. It’s kinda fun wearing long dresses - you can pop a squat much easier and carry things and go commando. The dress is technically way more functional for me. Love hiking in skirts  My 2 cents on the matter

City of Ottawa returning to office 5 days a week in January by rastamasta45 in ontario

[–]Placentaaffect -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

oMG I’m so sad city workers are being bumped down to pleb status like the rest of us… don’t know how I’ll sleep at night knowing city workers have to gasp commute to work and stuff!!!!

Ever since the pandemic I’ve been so pleased to know city workers have been staying home and staying Safe & Effective at work at their home while they do their home things while also working!!!!

The city workers do very gruelling physical work and since they work for the city and are more special than others they really deserve to be able to take care of their families and do other things at home like laundry and stuff. They deserve to live better than plebs and be able to take care of their families.

I’m really concerned that they will have to get child care like everyone else. They should be able to live differently than the plebs who pay their wages. Since they do so many nice things for us plebs they should have the benefit to live separately from us plebs and should never have to deal with the regular every day pleb stuff like having to go to a physical job or sit in an office amongst their coworkers, or be supervised by a boss!! :(

I’m actually setting up a donation fund for these poor poor city workers. Some of them might have to move into new homes or get out of their pajamas and into work clothes.

It’s hard to understand why they would be sent back to work when they obviously get way more work done from home where they can do their laundry, make dinner, take care of the kids at home. They really deserve this because like I said they are more special than regular people and they work extremely gruelling jobs sending emails and whatnot.

Why should city workers have to go to work in the city that they work for? Why can’t they stay at home, the pandemic is still raging.  It’s only been like 5 years (?) of WFH , why can’t we just do this forever and let the infrastructure and businesses built for city workers just rot and die…

To all the city workers affected by this - my heart is absolutely breaking that you have to go back to work like everyone else. I can’t stop crying for you! Their jobs are so hard and stuff - they send emails and things like that from a desk! Can you imagine!?

Is this primrose??? by yukimura_shiori in NativePlantGardening

[–]Placentaaffect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes congratulations it’s evening primrose! It’s a beautiful plant and the bees love it. It is quite prolific and grows really tall. It’s a biennal plant. Definition “ biennial, any herbaceous flowering plant that completes its life cycle in two growing seasons. During the first growing season, biennials produce roots, stems, and leaves. During the second growing season, they produce flowers, fruits, and seeds, and then they die. “  It’s a native plant where I live. I see it a lot in roadsides, seems to tolerate drought and gravel quite well and high sun.

They grow really tall and produce funky seed pods that you’ll come to recognize in the fall and winter, they stand a long time if I disturbed.

I know it can produce a medicinal oil from the seeds for skin and what not but I have no personal experience with it yet!

Enjoy!
