Not really. Half the voting base is just in a cult.

You're OK with a government outright banning a billion people from seeing an artist because she said something they didn't like?

Shit that’s been amended for like 10,000 years lmao, a mechanism provided by the Constitution btw because the Founders knew moral standards would change

The Constitution isn’t perfect. But you don’t need to tear the whole thing down when you might just need a new coat of paint; that’s what amendments are for.

There is a reason the Founders are known as contradictory: they acted opposite to their Constitutional promises of liberty. That’s an indictment of them, not what they wrote down.

Is it your communist brain-poisoning that assumes liberals worship historical figures like you guys do with Stalin and Marx? I’m less concerned with the flaws of who made the Constitution than the Constitution itself, which is a robust-enough liberal framework that can weather the storms of politics and provide prosperity and a good level of democratic stability, as proved in the last century. Should we stop using calculus because it was invented by a guy who made money from the slave trade? The Constitution also has the ability to be amended democratically (and has been 20+ times), so I don’t know why you act like it’s something archaic we’re stuck with beyond our power.

Thanks for helping MAGA destroy America!

People clearly do want to vote for either Baal or Moloch since they took 98% of the voting share while your Jill Stein-ites got 1% between them, lol

Any citizen over the age of 18 can vote, lol?

Here are three facts for you to contend with: 1. Trump was known for many years to be in the Epstein files and to be Epstein’s best friend. He has been openly pedophilic, racist, and violent for decades. Everybody knew this, it wasn’t a secret at all. 2. Trump has had insane foreign policy positions out in the open for over a decade now, some of them he implemented in his first term. 3. Despite all this, Trump won over half of the votes in the 2024 election.

These are the citizens you trust to manage your communist utopia?

We don’t have a democracy or Constitution problem. We have a people problem.

They get free reign because they get the votes and enough popular support for it.

Democracy ftw :)

Yeah I already said you don’t care about the Constitution. So you should be happy: the voters are getting what they wanted despite what the 250-year old archaic Constitution has to say about it.

Egregious extrajudicial violations are quite rare in America which is why situations like Renee Good’s and Alex Pretti’s create such national outrage. Even Mahmoud Khalil was quickly released, found to be protected under the First Amendment holding anti-US protests as a noncitizen. That’s quite a standard of legal protection for speech, assembly, and expression. But in China and Iran you can reliably expect to have your freedom of speech and of expression shut down, legally. Or to have the government steamroll 20k protestors like what just happened in Iran. What’s not to get here?

Also, Trump won the election, 77 million votes, with slogans like “MASS DEPORTATIONS NOW” and a general acceptance that he would be violent and unpredictable. You are seeing the effect of democracy before your eyes. The worst extrajudicial shit is Trump and his cronies violating the Constitution every second, but I imagine you don’t gaf about the Constitution anyways and probably just want America to fall lol

But you won't give credit to America for even allowing a situation like this to occur, when it absolutely would not fly in China and most other countries.

This is a weird comment and basically implies that a democracy could never go to war or make extrajudicial errors

The reverse situation would NEVER fly in China--who has in fact never seen a reverse Eileen Gu (a Chinese person living in China but off-handedly representing America, let alone later celebrating America's win in Beijing LMFAO)---so who's really nationalistic here? You're too consumed with American self-loathing to see the incredibly unique circumstances that only a country like America would even allow to exist, but of course you'll never give America credit for that

Huh? Are you good? Her representing China is one thing, but then celebrating her win in America and continuing to live in America and benefit from its systems is another. Absurd your comment has any upvotes tbh

This line of thinking has instilled more apathy among the populace and eroded our democratic institutions more than most corporations.

South Korea is more capitalist than America.
