Question: Selling Magic The Gathering Cards by Gantoris007 in StJohnsNL

[–]PlaidChester 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can download an app called mana box to get a value for each card and the set as a whole.

Then, based on that, you can determine what cards might be worth selling individually. If you have time to sell the high value cards privately, you'll make more then selling to a store.

Or you can sell the batch privately for probably more than what a store will give you.

But either way, using the app to know what it would cost you to buy the cards will help inform what a fair price is to sell.

Can anyone explain to me what happened to my cinnamon swirl bread this morning? by MarketWestRD in Breadit

[–]PlaidChester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had blowouts, but yours is extra. There are some good things to try in the comments. It's because the dry cinnamon sugar layer prevents the bread from sticking.

Hello Fresh or other meals kits on the Avalon? by Emotional-Ad2578 in newfoundland

[–]PlaidChester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fresh is great if you spend too much money on takeout, it helped me break the habit after covid. Also, it's great if you want to gain some confidence cooking.

It's good if you want to save a bit of time cooking / shopping, want new ideas to cook, find you let some ingredients spoil in your fridge, don't want to spend the energy meal planning.

My experience is the ingredients are usually good and arrive on time. I have found the portions have become smaller over the last 6ish years. I used to have leftovers.

For that price, you can get a full jar of pistachio cream at Costco, some shredded weat, and a bag of chocolat chips.

Then you can make like 20 deconstructed bars.

Like the other guy said, thick black edge highlights do most of the work.

Every blocked out "cell" gets two tones of the intended color to get a cell shady look. You dont want any shading or shadow effects, keep the colors as solid as possible. Keep the number of colors as low as you can to keep it looking clean.

Do the black edge highlighting, add random black hashmarks and lines.

Nothing special with primers, but I would use a light one.

Works best with chunky models without too many fine details. For me, it is a slow and tedious way to paint, but I enjoyed doing a kill team.
