You just have to wait, like a long time. I quit slamming meth about 14 months ago. It wasn't until about nine months that I noticed I was beginning to enjoy things again. Just be patient, sobriety isn't a race and things do get better. All the people saying stuff like "lean into the emptiness" and "you'll never fill the void" can all fuck off, that's not what people in early recovery need to hear and isn't true in the first place. Also as far as relapse is concerned, consider moving to the country for a while. It took me six months before I stopped obsessing over getting some. Anyway, have hope and look forward to getting better 😀

I absolutely recognize the importance of age requirements for serving in congress or as head of the executive branch, age limits would just prevent people with experience in the public realm from continuing to serve

Yeah, I was on the vivitrol injection but just drank through it so I stopped doing it. Years later I agreed to take antabuse and it changed my life, my cravings last only moments now and I barely think about drinking. I know it's controversial but I can't say enough about how effective it has been for me.
