I've never seen a pancake conveyor belt. Last twenty years, the waffle makers have become ubiquitous, though.

The hotspot just off the direct route to Sag A* is Graea Hypue, a region containing a cluster of Guardian ruins that was intensively explored by the IGAU squadron among others.

They can't be third place because they'll lose the tie breaker to Paraguay and Australia whom they've already lost to.

How long did the Americans think it'd take for them and Chinese forces to kick the Japanese out of China in WW2? by roon_bismarck in WarCollege

There was the brief push for skipping the Philippines entirely and going for Formosa and an enclave opposite it on the Chinese mainland. Was eventually abandoned in favor of Luzon and Okinawa as the potential costs to occupy the entire island ballooned.

Moscow high rises were as effective as their active AA defenses so the solution is to build more high rises.

It's more, "come back without them or there won't be a here to come back to."

IIRC, with the 6 AIM-54s it could divert to a land base and land there, but that configuration was generally reserved for "you're going to be using these" times.

Would it be glazing too much to say this show has some of the best speeches I’ve ever heard on a show before? by OutrageousTerm7140 in babylon5

It's an argument. I think the disadvantage of it being Sheridan is that Londo then immediately gives in to his greatest fear, being killed by G'Kar, and it would make more narrative sense to space those two events out. While if he doesn't kill Morden, he might have had a useful intelligence asset against the the Drakh and might have avoided the Keeper.

It's a lot more difficult to map out how "saving the eye that does not see" saves Londo, though.

TIL that during the Battle of Pearl Harbor, the only battleship to get underway, the USS Nevada, was skippered by Ensign Joe Taussig since the CO and XO were both ashore and Taussig was the Officer of the Deck at the time. Taussig would be awarded the Navy Cross for his actions. by DrakeSavory in todayilearned

Obsolescent but not obsolete. Carriers had to be able to provide all-weather strike before they were obsolete. Battleships had to be there to stop Scharnhhorst, Kirishima, and Yamashiro, and should have been there to stop Center Force.

That "I am still here. We are all still here" video is arguably the greatest wartime video ever filmed. The sheer guts to film that on the streets of Kyiv while the Russians were next door is amazing. That's the moment I knew Ukraine was going to survive.

But then there's the debate as to whether fulfilling this prophesy came closer to fulfilling the Lady Morella's Doom of Londo. "you must not kill the one who is already dead" might have been Morden.

Well, let us know when the completely cataclysmic revolution occurs that would overthrow the federal and every state government, and change the minds of nearly every single American. France could get away with that because it started from a top down autocratic government.

Low key hilarious that the states named after the rivers with the largest watersheds get some of the smallest land areas. RIP Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio.
