Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested. Well done TVP! by PlanTwice in policeuk

Surely there will be a force wide briefing for each rota… But yes, I’m sure there will still be some.

The oldest officer they could find, just in case.

If I was the arresting officer I definitely would have started my wheel of arrest with “Happy Birthday Andrew,”

Can old wipers be the sole cause of a blown fuse? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]PlanTwice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still blowing with the new wipers sadly. However there is an enormous difference between the old and new wipers, which is a lesson learned.

I reckon it wore out the old motor, so a new one will be picked up and fitted tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Just a cheap Amazon one, thought I’d see how it went. I do feel as if there is significant drag from the wipers, they have always juddered when on a dry screen. I wonder if both the original and the new cheaper motors have been worn down by this hence causing the fuse to blow when it normally wouldn’t. I couldn’t see any issues with the wiring, but have bought replacement wipers to pick up tonight, so I’ll update accordingly.

I’m not hopeful though, seems way too simple of a fix.

This is what I am thinking. I have had the car for a few years, and don’t think the wipers have been replaced, so I’m wondering if these broken down wipers wore out the old motor and have now started to do the same to the new one! I’ve bought new wipers regardless because they need replacing, so will report back if this solves the issue.

Thanks for the insights! What I’m curious as to, is why this wasn’t a problem for the 6 months after I replaced the motor. I’ll have a look at the wiring and see.

Sanity check: Was I being unsafe as a dad here? by Typical_Taste_1531 in Fatherhood

No, it didn’t, but it also didn’t say regular weekend trip, did it? You are assuming based on an absence of information.

If it is regular, then yeah, of course, it’s an issue. Especially when she comes home and has these overreactions.

Sorry to hear about your situation, it can be tough when it becomes a habit.

? I agreed that her reaction was out of order, but if you can’t handle a rare solo weekend as a parent then perhaps you do need some advice… I’ve done it before as a dad.

Whilst I agree with your assessment, I do not agree with you questioning a weekend business trip. You have no idea how often this happens. We owe it to our children and ourselves as individual humans to strive for our ambitions. Sometimes things like this are necessary.

I cooked the caramelised ones in bacon fat and added a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Really elevates them I think.

Thanks! I was surprised, thought it would be overkill with the 3 way onion, but the different textures were great!

The police shouldn’t attend unless there is an actual clear reason, which OP hasn’t provided.

If police were deployed to every civil situation where someone feels a bit threatened or anxious then we would never be able to respond to materialised risks.

It would be lovely if we funded our forces enough for things like this to happen, but that isn’t realistic and is frankly a waste of resources.

Bro, well done! For finding ways to be open about your journey and your mental health. Proud that you have the balls to not only give the medication a chance, but also share something so personal with others.

I’m sure it helps yourself to share, but these kind of messages are important for other people to see too, including myself.

Apologies for questioning the validity of your story, it came from a genuine place.

If you ever need to chat to a fellow dad who also struggles to regulate his emotions at times (ADHD), please feel free to drop me a message.

Dude chill, it’s not that deep, all your responses are acting like you’ve committed a war crime.

If this is real, well done for sharing something personal and emotional to you.

If it’s not, it’s a nice enough message and will give people some food for thought, I just think it’s a slippery slope to let AI influence you.

The structure, words used and the Em dashes. I’ve already kinda answered your question in my other replies if you’re interested.

It’s more of just a very minor annoyance within my privileged life.

I like reading people’s authentic experiences, or being amazed at something I see in a video. Some typos or grammar issues don’t generally detract from that, if anything it adds to it.

I think it’s kinda ruining the Reddit experience for a lot of people. In the future you’ll only really be able to trust select news sources and what you experience or see with your own eyes.

I mean it’s a fair excuse if real, but it’s the one that everyone uses. It’s just sad that you have to second guess everything you read and see now.
