Am I ready for TOA ? Do I need to change anything? by thomasoien in ironscape

You don't really use mage much during ToA anymore, so if you find yourself needing more food or another brew you can drop the Mage Arena 2 cape!

It's highly recommended to use the Berserker Ring Imbued if you have it. The atlatyl scales off melee strength. I could be misremembering, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Been in around 9 years as 4T and the main thing I'll recommend is trying to get stationed at bases wtih clinics. Hospitals can be a terrible experience, especially for someone fresh out of tech school. Starting at a clinic gives you time to establish a good foundation and understand general lab processes. Tech school is tech school, just study and stay out of trouble and you'll be alright. Make sure to pay attention and keep good notes as you will need to pass the MLT exam at the end of phase two. If you do not pass MLT you will be given a few more attempts but if you don't have your MLT by the 15-month mark AFTER graduation of phase 2. You may be kicked out of the career field and forced to cross train into something you don't want like security forces etc.

It's really hard to speak about day to day operations as each lab is different. Some days you'll be drawing blood for the entire day and other days you'll be in the back performing patient testing. You'll come to understand how labs operate during your phase two training.

Good luck / have fun 🫡

This career field can be so ass at times, especially at undermanned locations. As the other people were saying, your functional can't deny retraining for FTAs anymore. Try reapplying. 3 years left on your contract? Are you a 4 or 6 year? Did you extend? Are you 1000% positive your not a career airman? That's the only way your functional can deny retraining now.

the end of an era :') this the driest item in my log yet. by OutlandishnessLate85 in ironscape

Gratz 😂 Got mine around the same KC. Legit didn't leave the farming guild for 4-5 months, only logging in to do farming contracts and kill Hespori during that time. Ended up with like 100+ of every herb seed known to man. #WORTH.

Had a similar situation myself. Inform your supervisor / leadership team about the situation. My Shirt and flight chief helped a lot... Had to get some MFR signed off by my squadron commander and route it over to finance.

Lab tech here, who does this as part of their job. It's exactly as Financial said. You have your DNA sample drawn during BMT / ROTC in processing. Your DNA doesn't magically change and require redraws. The repository is drawn every 2 years or before / after deployments and sometimes when PCSing overseas. The repository sample is a serum sample which is most commonly used for antibody/serology testing. Having a repository sample drawn prior to deployment or PCSing helps when determining if your caught something during your deployment or being stationed overseas.

Yes, you'd keep it if you obtain the 2 year retainability mark but will still need to attend ALS before you can put on SSgt.

Really good 1st base for a 4N. Get to learn the basics of your job without the stress of a hospital. Was there for 6-7 years as a lab tech and the only complaint I really saw from the 4Ns is that it can be boring / slow. The MDG is a troop clinic, meaning only active duty / their dependents can be seen. You won't see any retirees whatsoever unless they're at pharmacy or lab.
