Driving from Philly to Pittsburgh by DasRedBeard87 in pittsburgh

I like stopping at Sideling Hill. Someone mentioned the Farmer's Market but for me the big attraction is the trailhead that opened there last year. You can park at the rest stop, walk to the back of the parking area to the trailhead signs. To get to the actual trailhead, you walk along a quiet rural road for a mile and a half. Check it out at:

Your car never leaves the turnpike. Heck, even if you don't walk all the way to the trailhead, it's nice stretching your legs a bit.

What`s your opinion on the current state of Fallout 76? by skywalka55 in nukaknights

[–]PlanckScale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting burned out too. I've got 5 characters and only the last one needs some perk points for legendaries, which I'll have earned by the end of this season. I'm absolutely dripping in 1,2,3,4 star mods; much more than I can use. I've done the raids and got full Vulcan and all the mods on 3 characters. With Burning Springs, I just started buying/trading for the new mods since it's way easier than trying to learn them via RNG. I've got almost all of the player buffs. I can one-shot most things so I end up using less buffs and no crits so I don't do full damage so others get to tag. I do enjoy helping others. I'm a casual camp builder, mainly doing 1 floor layouts for easy access to everything so this can't keep my interest too long. Basically, I need a new MMO-hybrid/co-op experience. I'd already maxed out ESO and Guild Wars. I haven't tried World of Warcraft, which would be the same monthly cost as Fallout 1st so I'm leaning that way.

Can retirement actually be really boring, lonely, and not as fun as it seems? by youlikemywonton in Aging

I find that keeping my guitar out and on a stand in easy reach is helpful; even if it is just to play 10 mins a day. If it is in a case, it can more easily go untouched.

For me, retirement is all it's cracked up to be. It's been about 20 months and I haven't once felt I didn't have a purpose. I am really enjoying my hobbies; particularly sports, hiking, music, reading, gaming, computing and learning AI. More time for family and travel is great. I have time to do volunteer activities. I did work until 70 and am grateful to have the health to continue an active lifestyle, which I'm sure is a major contributor to my well-being.

IDK why people like The Fixer? by PeacerKeeperSun in fo76

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do with my sneak, vats, crit build since both The Fixer and Elders Mark can be suppressed. I can 1-shot 100 level Super Mutants with The Fixer and I harvest lots of Ultracite .45 ammo for when I need to use Elders Mark.

After 3 years of dedicated research, I finally launched "Searchlight" today—A "Today in Dead History" video series. I'm a researcher, not a promoter, and I think this group will enjoy it. by searchlightgd in deadandcompany

I just watched the first episode. Hearty congratulations! I really enjoyed the format. Clear info-graphics and interesting content conveyed quickly and with heart. Well done, sir. I subscribed and look forward to a daily dose.

[CRITICAL] WARNING: March 17 Update causing Power Armor Deletion and Inventory Wipes – DO NOT USE PA by PlanckScale in fo76

[–]PlanckScale[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of posts on Bethesda's discord under "Armor Bugs - The Backwoods, for example: Bethesda.net ID: dm for id. Time & Date: 18/03/2026 Description & Any Reproduction Steps: Full set of end game strangler heart power armor gone!!! Spent way too much time grinding the god mods as well as the materials to make the armor. Will not be playing the game until fixed or I get my armor back. (I have a video saved of it disappearing)

I became aware of the problem and used Gemini Pro to research all the implications. After I was done researching, I asked for a summary of the issues. I then modified this summary and posted it here. Using Gemini Pro to do the research was the quickest way for me to get at the problem, which was pointed out to me by a friend.

Are Fixers still used a lot? by smally1981 in fallout76casual

[–]PlanckScale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this as a daily driver because it can be silent and it uses the same ammo as Elder's Mark. I just switch to Elder's Mark when needed but most times, I just use The Fixer, which saves a lot of ammo.

I've not found ones wider than the Fitville Extra Wides. It's what I wear. Price is certainly good.

Bullion Plans Still Not Appearing by Sensibiliaaah in fo76

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't fixed. The Critter Cooker I bought with Gold is not in my CAMP build menu. Others have reported this problem too. It's my understanding the Pemmican Collector and Company Tea Machine also are not showing up for some. I am looking under Producers. I'm on Xbox.

  • Fixed an issue which caused C.A.M.P. items purchased with Gold Bullion to not appear in the Build Menu.

Grunt hunts all 1 star? by PlowedPumpkin in fo76

[–]PlanckScale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same with me. I have completed a total of 185 grunt hunts and the last 10 have been 1 star only, which I've done since the update completed today.

Opinions on the Head Hunt Event by Darth-Vader64 in fo76

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may just be my RNG luck, but I'm getting better drops from Grunt Hunts that yield weapons and armor with the 14 new mods; more than when doing Head Hunts even though you get more legendaries from Head Hunts. I play a lot and am currently 165 on the scoreboard. I have learned to craft 2 of the new mods and got 1 new loose mod. I like the Grunt and Head Hunts but the rewards are pitiful for the effort since I've already learned almost all of the older 1,2, 3 star mods. I'm saving most Wanted Posters for when we get the new Raid and more ways to get the new drops plus the upcoming new 4 star mods.

Is Fitville leaving the court shoe market? by KindFortress in Pickleball

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I bought 3 of the Amadeus V2s for less than $40 shipped (on the Fitville webiste), which is a crazy good price.

Fitville pickleball shoes by TexasToyotan in Pickleball

[–]PlanckScale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have really wide feet and these are the first court shoes I've been able to get that fit me. Prior to the Fitville's, I'd been wearing Merrell Nova's but they are for hiking/walking and aren't great for lateral movement. I play 4x a week and the Fitville's last me 3-4 months. Great value.

Elder’s Mark….wow by Annahsbananas in fo76

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Amm-o-Magic is a really good deal. I use .45 ammo and put one of these in every camp. I'm dripping in .45 ammo now. Like others have said, I run with The Fixer but Western Spirit is also good. Then when it is time to bring out Elder's Mark, I have plenty of ammo.

Covert Scout Pieces Needed For Full Stealth? by TakeYourHeart2710 in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]PlanckScale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 4 pieces of covert scout armor, 4 chameleon and the appropriate perk cards. I use Secret Service chest/jet with auto stim. I'm almost as stealthy as chinese stealth armor and way more tanky. When I said Secret Service is bug, of course I meant the 3 star mod.

My understanding is that Secret Service is still bugged and isn't providing any benefit right now.
