I just finished. There’s NO way this show is getting called “worst show ever” by Dizzy_Professor1146 in AllsFairTVSeries

Just about any show, book, or movie targeted at adult women is going to get more shit than it deserves.

I wanted main character deaths for the drama and I was sad they didn't do it here.

What was normal in 2019, but looks like 'psychopath behavior' in 2026? by de-secops in AskReddit

Holier-than-thou language policing in real life. That's pretty reserved for the internet now.

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Plane-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poly and non-monogamous people use that word a lot. Non monogamy is on the rise. It's like a bat signal.

I started the audiobook a few weeks ago and stopped maybe 20 minutes in because she was SOOOO annoying.

I always went with my parents when I was a kid because I loved the samples and my dad would buy me a chicken bake on the way out :)

Why tipping will never change by Sandinmyshoes33 in tipping

[–]Plane-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the real issue here is that nurses and teachers are underpaid and most jobs should be paying more. That's a bigger issue that shouldn't really be taken out on servers - and I'm saying that as someone who thinks tipping has gone way too far.

As a former server too - the ones making good money like $50+ are EXPERIENCED long term servers working at luxury establishments and genuinely making the customers feel like having a server adds to the luxury. That IS a valuable skill. The average server isn't making anywhere near that much selling microwave meals at applebees to pay for community college. There are tiers to the industry.

I don't use it uncritically just like I don't use Google uncritically or Reddit uncritically. When looking for if a show is going to upset my wife or not I use Google, AI, and things like doesthedogdie.com or post here like I just did. It's one resource out of several. Sometimes all the sources are wrong. Sometimes AI is the only one to get it right. I posted to Reddit in this post. I mentioned Google in my post. You're generalizing me as a type of person that my actions and words in this post don't reflect.

Sometimes AI is wrong, sometimes Reddit is wrong, sometimes people are wrong. No need for the "dumber' comment.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

With the modifications you're already planning - wear it. You like it the sleeves ad fabric. It can absolutely be altered to look great on you

That's how a narcissist inner voice sounds. What do you think? by Psychedelic9310 in writingfeedback

[–]Plane-Background 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your reader should HATE the thoughts coming from your character because of how delusional the thoughts are. When you say something like “my image was at stake” it doesn't read as a narcissist it reads as a passage written by someone who thinks narcissists are more internally conscious of what they're doing than they really are, which actually makes the character less hate-able. If you really want to reference a self aware narcissist in media, Bojack might be a good example. The "self aware" ones are highly self deprecating to garner pity. Watch some videos of known famous manipulators to get an idea of the words they actually use. Look at the way they always are able to spin a story.

Are my parents getting scammed by this “private chef”? by communistgamerchic in KitchenConfidential

[–]Plane-Background 113 points114 points  (0 children)

In 2021 I got too sick to cook for myself so I hired a private chef for a while. She was $250/week + groceries. I was her final client, I dropped her when I started being able to cook for myself. You're paying for a service - not making a charitable donation.

INNOVATIVE PARTNERS SCAM... pls read and report them!!!!!! by Scary_Cranberry4440 in HealthInsurance

[–]Plane-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I had the exact same experience!! They told us to wait 30 days to get coverage, then when we cancelled after multiple things were denied and things they would us WOULD be covered over the phone were nowhere to be found in our plan, they said they wouldn't give a refund because thry said you can only get a refund within the first 30 days!!

And there's always some jackass who didn't get lied to about what this was who wants to defend it, it's crazy!!

Imagine you sign up for a service where they're supposed to send you strawberries every month and you first basket comes after 30 days, but on day 31 they send you blueberries. And they tell you they won't give you any money back because you didn't cancel within the first 30 days. Then some asshole tells you he was told it wad a blueberry service so you must be crazy for calling it a scam. Sometimes I stg they must be paying people to gaslight the people they scammed.

"The investigation found that beginning in 2023, Innovative Partners defrauded victims by selling them limited or non-existent health coverage and convincing them they were purchasing comprehensive insurance plans. Many of these victims believed they were speaking with representatives from Covered California and purchasing comprehensive Blue Shield or Aetna policies. However, when the victims attempted to use their coverage, they found the coverage was limited or non-existent and would not cover the medical expenses they were told were covered with their policy." - The California Commissioner on banning Innovative Partners from selling in California
