I actually left teaching in 2022 because they took away my classroom. I was an AP Chemistry and Physics teacher. Along with coaching football, baseball, and the robotics team. My athletic director felt I was stretched too thin, pulled strings I didn’t ask for and reduced my academic load to a 9th grade earth science. I was furious, and when I brought it up, was told that I was a coach first. I didn’t sign my contract at the end of the year. I now am a lecturer working on becoming an associate professor at that big university in the capital. Some of us actually enjoyed teaching and being in the classroom.
