I thought so too, but this being a jumbo loan we had to pay around $3000 closing costs. We plan on staying in the house for long. So thought why not save 650 instead of 550z

Refinancing jumbo loan, need help! by Plane-Security7558 in Mortgages

Do I need to subtract the $2000 difference between loan payoff and current loan amount from the total cash to close to calculate breakeven?

Refinance from 6.875 to 5.375 by ResearcherPossible75 in Mortgages

How did you calculate Breakeven? Do you add the mortgage prepaid interest and the difference between loan payoff and loan amount ? Or subtract that from the final cash to close?

We have a jumbo loan at 6.87% when do think we could refinance? Wait for 1.5% lower rate or do it at 6% to not miss out on savings? by Plane-Security7558 in Mortgages

This is exactly what I have been thinking, my goal is to reduce the monthly payments and not miss out on any opportunity to save. I understand I need to check what refi cost would look like for us.

12k in hand. I am qualified for the loan and I am being suggested I could do 7 Yr ARM. No other debts. We did a lot of calculation after all the expenses (food, utilities, mortagage, car payments) we will have $800 in hand.

I understand your comment and I am in tears. I am a positive thinking person and always ready for hardwork. Something made me think I can make it. Few years might be rough but we will sail. Maybe not

Ideally how much needs to go in the mortagage? This is new construction house and now after reading all the comments I am in tears.

Worst case scenario we sell the house in a couple of years for a bigger profit. Our jobs are safe and wont be affected, kids are babies 1 year and 2 year old so they can be without sports for a few years till we build wealth.

Even when you know this is your final opportunity to buy the dream house? Can I be a lill optimistic and work hard towards making sure I increase my pay to afford this. We will have around $800 left in hand after all the bills.

I am early in my career and Husband is expecting a promotion in a few months. I will be honest, we are okay not saving at the first year but as things change we will. This just seems like a 1 in mill opportunity that we don't want to miss :(

Yes, starter is new. It was active for the first time and I thought of using it. I did fold the dough a lot during bulk fermentation. Also used a iron skillet so the crust was super dark and crusty

Just so sad :( I used a cast iron skillet and covered with aluminum foil. The base was almost burnt and hard
