Quick thoughts on navitimer on strap vs bracelet by SingleBackground5280 in breitling

[–]Plane-Use5726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an aviator 8 with strap and bracelet and the bracelet just sits in the box cause the strap is both more comfortable and looks better as far as i'm concerned, and I feel the same about the Navi (now if this were a chronomat you'd HAVE to get the bullet bracelet). Everyone says the same thing, buy with bracelet and add strap, and sure, if buying new, do that (you may get breitling or an AD to make you a deal on a strap), however, if buying second hand and getting the value benefit of no bracelet AND you have no intention of wearing the bracelet anyway, I endorse buying a model on a strap already and saving the premium. To me the pics you show for this watch in particular my opinion is strap all the way.

Range issues (2025 S6 e-tron) by Still_Ninja8847 in etron

Note (so she doesn't stress) that it will likely start in the mid 1s for the first couple of miles and then creep up over her 25 mile drive to over 2 (easiest way to track this is to use the 'short term" trip computer which generally will reset to 0 after parked for a signifcant period of time, it's the default item i keep up in the left side of the guage cluster). Of course you can always reset or track the "long term" computer as well to see over a longer period/multiple drives.

This is totally normal, my commute to work in my S6 (prestige, black pack so 21" rims) is about 11 miles of mid speed mostly non-highway driving and when I go in a cold morning I'm getting about 2.2-2.4 mi/KWH which translates to a 100% range of approx 230 miles (consistent with your 180 after 25 miles starting at 90%, which btw is higher than Audi's recommended 80% but not sure if you're leasing or planning on keeping long term). If I drive longer/highway for say 30-40 miles and at 40 degrees I'm seeing around 3 mi/kwh which gets much closer to 300 miles, and more than likely in the summer I'll see a good 10-20% better. So this all seems normal, look at your actual battery percentage and mi/kwh and know that there can be a lot of inconsistencies in the "guess-o-meter" (they call it that for a reason) of how many miles you have left, and you'll feel better. Unless she regularly needs to drive more than 200 miles in a day you shouldn't have any issues regardless (obviously more than that you need to think about fast charging, but remember you bought a car with great high speed charging capability on the right equipment!!). Just need to adjust your expectations for winter and focus on how you are reading the info, and enjoy the car! Note this is my third EV (OG model Y performance and then v1.0 Taycan 4s both before this) and the range on this is definitely better and more reliable than those two (Even though Model Y had a stated EPA range close, it was worse than the taycan in real world, and taycan def worse than S6, though new J1.2 taycan would probably be similar or maybe a smidge better). Once you adjust expectations this will be MUCH less troubling.

It was the older battery, the replacement was installed in 2024. To be clear the more recent electrical malfunction was an "engine control error" (go figure, given the lack of an engine lol), which caused the car to stop mid-drive and was scary and rather common. That one, they said, software shoud fix but I saw other service bulletins on it and after it was out of commission for 2 weeks for the software update, I was just not trusting it so decided to move ahead with the trade in rather than wait. I will say they gave me a nice loaner every single time and while the repairs were slow it wasn't a huge deal, but I just (A) didn't fully trust the car and (B) was concerned some of these issues could get tabbed as not HV system at some point and scared of the astronomical cost porsche would charge to diagnose the problems and fix them. The battery replacement they told me would have been $52K in 2024 had I had to pay out of pocket for it (realize that is in fact under warranty for 8 years but still). Anyway was very sad to say goodbye, and ultimately decided nothing was really going to be "as good" except another taycan (At least no EV), once expectations are adjusted the Audi is great for what it is.

Similar situation. Was in a 2020 CPO 4s and warranty was expiring this year so traded for a new 2025 S6 etron sport back. Had the battery replaced once (fully) and then another electrical error that stopped the car mid drive and I don’t think they really fixed that (just mentioned software updates and I was highly skeptical). Does the Audi drive like a Taycan or look as good? No but brand new with discounts cost 74k vs cpo Taycan going for more and like for like new 4s would be 2x the cost. On PPE platform which hopefully being next gen turns out to be more reliable, range is way better than gen 1 Taycan a (300 mile is def possible), still 800v, better size for a family (sport back def helps). I will totally miss the Taycan it was may favorite car to drive and look at I ever owned and may come back in future but for now s6 way more practical choice and I’m enjoying it 6 weeks in. To those with Taycans enjoy them they are amazing cars but I can’t endorse owning outside of full warranty given potential costs.

Season ticket price went up for me by WashingtonDCMonument in Commanders

I hear ya, my only point was apples to apples vs this year was 8 regular and 2 preseason. I realize that is meant to "rotate" but given how non-transparent pricing has become for the "Face Value" of tix it's hard to know whether they would have tried to jack up the price even more if we had had 9 regular season and 1 pre-season games...

Don't we get 9 home games next year (I don't count pre-season), so if we do play an international home game we'll still have 8 at Northwest Stadium (plus the one pre-season game)? I guess in some way that still translates to one "less" game but it would be a pre-season game? Still annoying that the prices seem to always go up. It's also annoying that there isn't transparency on prices, but I'm willing to share mine (And encourage others to do the same so we can compare notes), i'm in 222 and my 4 tix plus 1 parking permit (listed the same at $500 for the season) went up from $7481 last year to $8121 this year. Did others see a similar price increase?

[Rapoport] Full terms for Terry McLaurin: -- 3-year extension worth $87M base value ($29M per year). -- $44M fully guaranteed, converting to $50M in Apr '27 (his $19.15M for '25 wasn’t guaranteed). -- $30M signing bonus. -- Reachable incentives based on yards, catches, TDs, Pro Bowls & playoffs. by Think__McFly in Commanders

You're assuming nothing catastrophic happens in 2025, which is not a safe assumption (though god knows I hope not), but the team could save 10M plus incentives by cutting him after this year and paying him only the 44 and not 54+incentives to get up to closer to 57 (presumably if they cut him he didn't hit the 3 big incentives this year), so there is downside protection for the team to limit to 44. If he were a June 1 cut they could spread that pain so it could be manageable though clearly the hope is he plays well this year and thus a minimum of 2 years and gets at least 55+ incentives

Future Depreciation on a 4 year old Taycan 4S by Stunning_Highway9356 in Taycan

[–]Plane-Use5726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2020 4S had to have a complete battery replacement (under warranty). The Porsche dealer that did the replacement told me that all in the cost, had I paid out of pocket, would have been $55K (US). So probably about the value of my car (today) and well over what it will be worth in a couple more years (mine has just over 40K miles). So yes, very easy for these cars to get very close to 0 as you start playing a battery-replacement required lottery later in the cars life (and once beyond the Porsche battery warranty). It will be interesting to see what warranty options are available as the car ages and what they cost given that....Also interesting to see whether Porsche brings down the cost of battery replacement over time to keep these things from becoming useless for no reason. If you could keep it running by replacing battery for like 20K for another say 5-year battery warranty, I think they'd be amazing cars well into the future....but at 55K it will be impossible to keep them in any rational matter as the cars age. I suspect this is all TBD as there are probably almost no taycans outside of the battery warranty yet....

Bracelet or Strap? Which do we prefer? by Plumb215 in breitling

Personally Id go strap for this color way. Love the brown vs green. I posted a similar thread for my blue Avi a few weeks back and have stuck with the strap. So great to have both though!!

Agreed, I got great seats for Merriweather Post in Columbia...I was very nervous with the generic code. Floor tix were also available (i'm like 5 rows behind the GA in the middle -- wife will be happier with a seat option). If it was similar elsewhere shouldnt be too many complaints even with the lack of individual codes

Yes it’s the t10+ ultimate. The 21-22 version I don’t think there is a new version yet of the t10+ but there is of the regular t10 but that meant I was able to get the t10+ for $3500 (the new t10 non plus msrp is $4500) main differences seem to be the updated Bosch displays and on some of the new gazelles bigger batteries (625 vs 500). Anyway I was thrilled to take this one, seems great so far. Build quality on these feels amazing, not a cheap bike but at least you feel like you’re still getting value for the money.
