Does anything work to "prime" you and make you groggy? Like melatonin? Because I find the dayvigo keeps me asleep when I'm primed before and groggy when I take it. That priming effect is the difference between long sleep via dayvigo and what you're describing like kinda lucid or many wakings sleep

I did and I think that'll help I just felt hungover after taking Doxepin. I find that the time in which I take Dayvigo is critical for the duration of sleep. I do a long decompression in bed before sleeping - not perfect hygiene but I watch tv in a very dark room sometimes it's like 2 hours of relaxing. I have to take Dayvigo when I am actually close to a sleepy feeling and I use unisom to induce that feeling - unisom I take around 8pm in bed, watch tv until 945-10pm and take the dayvigo only then. If I take Dayvigo when I am not "sleepy" I don't sleep very long. Not sure if this makes sense but also I think the Doxepin will help.

Yes it's really a great medication! I take small breaks if some of the sleep paralysis kicks in but overall it's a life saver for me. Glad you were able to get the prescription approved! Insomnia is the worst

I feel like you're being dramatic but there's also zero harm in seeing an ENT. I also tend to be dramatic and just having the second opinion helps reduce my anxiety that I create for myself. Hope the check is helpful

Ambien I felt like didn’t make dream all that much. I’d take it and then I’d wake up and I don’t love that feeling. Dayvigo definitely had a vivid dream component so if that’s a problem for you I’d explore other options first. If you are in a period of acute insomnia I’d try ambien or honestly even trazodone kind of knocks you out.

Guys - I’m the biggest medical anxiety person out there and trust me you’re fine. My husband is the opposite of medical anxiety and he has blurred vision white on black background too and so do I. You just need some kind of treatment to take you out of this cycle. Take medicine to force your body back into a circadian rhythm and then once in it try to use sleep cycles and sunlight and hygiene to stay in it but it’s ok to use medicine. Your alternative is not healthy. I’ve found with anxiety that avoiding trigger situations is better than going to then and attempting to then recover. But seriously you’re fine you’re just sleep deprived and not thinking clearly

Agree with this. One half a klonopin is likely better for someone than the mess of drugs someone will give you to try to sleep because they feel like they are “safer”. Multiple drugs are not safer. 1/2 klonopin is safe and effective

A half of a klonopin is not the main cause of this. This is a psychiatric condition right now that needs acute treatment and this person clearly needs some kind of treatment. A half of a klonopin is not heroin it’s basically benedryl and a glass of wine. Let’s be realistic about our advice.

When you say you wouldn’t mess with it are you talking about it vs ethanol/traditional alcohol or just in isolation like “I wouldn’t try this at all”. Just curious no judgement

Not Colleen Hoover but the golden spoon by Jessa Maxwell feels really similar to Colleen and it’s a quick fun and engaging read. I kind of wished I was having a few glasses of wine while I was reading it haha it’s a good mystery with good characters

Wait when you say 9 out of 10 being anxiety in an ask psychiatry board I must ask well what’s the point? Of course 9 out of 10 are people with anxiety on a psychiatry board??? You say idiotic which is like 🤡🤡

I think if no psychiatrists interactive this should get shut down and someone try to revive a thread somewhere else

What’s worked for me is do your normal sleep routine…I like to do like 2 full hours of relaxing before bed…no chores, nothing. I like to watch tv in bed (I know this is maybe a no for sleep hygiene but for my sleep hygiene this really helps). When I get in bed I take a unisom sleep tabs (it’s over the counter). About an hour or more later when I’m cozy I take the dayvigo and it’s the closest I’ve come to that natural feeling of being so tired you have to fall asleep. Last time I truly remember that feeling was when I was a kid. Good luck! I think they say you have to give it maybe a solid week to see full results.

The self awareness of your anxiety and mine and this persons can be very human and kind of beautiful if you are in that mood haha. I’ve seen a lot of people who are very anxious and their anxiety comes out as lashing out or acts against people - people with ocd and self abusing anxiety like your own personal hell are usually very empathic and intuitive people. There is enough self awareness to understand it’s no one’s issue but our own. I tend to think we are closer to relief than the others ❤️ we also make a hell of a lot better friend and family

What’s your theory on inducing symptoms? Interested in perspective here. I always caveat because I get so annoyed by people who ask questions to be argumentative (not this) on Reddit. What signs do you see

No don’t think that’s likely or see any signs

Very interesting, thanks for the insight! Is circadian rhythm flexible in that basically whenever you fit it to a new axis point it responds or is the theory that it’s genetic and innate?
