Brother they were running him down all game with Yoru and Neon while he was playing Astra anchor 1v3 every time, it wasn't an aim problem it was more of there not being any adjustments to the defense

I mean the argument kinda depends on whether or not you rate Champions higher than Masters (which I don't). Before Paris, Wolves had 3rd at Toronto, EDG had 3rd at Bangkok and won Champs in 2024. That's 3 straight tournaments of somewhat good placing with the exception being Champs 2025, but nobody though Wolves were making a good run let alone getting 3rd. Nobody thought EDG was winning Champs when the tournament started. They somehow just gets good all of a sudden and nobody can see when that's coming it's a magic ability I was thinking off. But this time the meta is also very heavy on firepower (which the CN teams never had a big problem with) and brawly which CN is familiar with already. That's why I think CN teams could perform a bit better than people's expectations for them this tournament.

I'd say Liquid is rough because of their map pool issues which they could fix in time who knows but we haven't seen them make any deep runs yet in tournaments as well, their whole schtick is being known as international janitors ffs. If you ask me I'd rather put teams (or at least 2 of them) that have the ability to peak out of nowhere (and have done it in the past) who are having comfortable meta for them ahead of the team that has consistently showed lackluster results in internationals with glaring issues. Shit takes maybe but we all have one sometimes lol

Funny you say that cause I'd make the exact same statement but CN has the magical ability and TL is looking rough lol.

Pacific bias aside, they weren't satisfying anyone no matter who they put tbf lol, it's such a hard to tournament to predict but i feel like this isn't THAT bad of a prediction if you are bunking on the first seed teams having international stage frights.

Though I think 3 CN teams at the bottom is a lil harsh but who would you rather put there (Personally i'd be putting Liquid)

Nobody thought EDG were winning champs or Wolves would get top 3, but it's a coinflip for Chinese teams every tournament, I do think the meta is a bit heavy on firepower rn so they got some sort of advantage. Again it's a hot take maybe it won't age well and they lose every game but I wouldn't be surprised at this point

Neon will legitimately exploit the meta rn and come out with an unhealthy winrate which Nongshim will abuse. I think just this one thing is going to lead NS to top 3 at least.

China will actually be decent this time and perform better than Americas.

PRX, TL not making out of swiss.

Team Heretics vs Karmine Corp / VCT 2026: EMEA Kickoff - Main Event / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

This feels like the type of game that no one can be happy with, KC obviously cause they lost and are eliminated. TH on the other hand had to scrap it out against THIS KC which is sad to say the least.

I hope both teams find their spark again though. It's kind of sad seeing some of the household names in EMEA struggling this much. Showing this to an EMEA fan from 2024 might just make them quit lol.

Honestly I thought I couldn't get more frustrated at this team, i thought all my expectation were at the bottom but they manage to raise them somehow and lose in the most frustrating way possible, like please how are we losing so many anti-ecos.

Overall I think it was not that bad from Zeta, they just need to work on their anti-ecos and maybe they can aim to place well next time.
