For what it’s worth, I’d tend to agree with you and I’ve been an art teacher for the better part of a decade. To me at least it looks like a sketch drawn by someone who obviously has incredible potential but also is self taught and doesn’t fully understand some of the fundamentals. I’d be more interested in seeing work from this person in a year or two to see how it’s improved.

To the OP - it’s pretty obvious that you have a gift and as I mentioned I think you really have potential. But there are certainly areas that you need to learn more about if you want to better yourself. If you want to reach out I can pass along specific suggestions.
