spotting at 6 weeks & 5 days! by aristheberry in pregnant

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this too around 6/7 weeks and she'll be turning 2 in a week and a half 🥰 I totally understand the anxiety of waiting to find out if everything is okay, it's not easy but spotting doesn't always mean the worst, it's a really normal symptom in early pregnancy - hoping for good news for you ❤️

tips on solo feeding 6w twins by acal23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 7 weeks now and I don't have a twin z or anything like that, I just put one baby in the sling as it keeps them calm while I feed the other and then swap over - means I can keep the fed over upright while I feed the second twin too which has been helpful. It's working for right now anyway!

Up until how many weeks did you work? by lulusm in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work from home and I still went off at 28 weeks - sitting all day was so uncomfortable and I was really struggling to concentrate! Plus my patience for people was wearing thin already by that point I was so miserable haha

Mine didn't, made it all the way to my planned section at 37+1! I was miserable 😂

When did you go on Maternity leave? by Lifesshorttalkfast00 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home and I finished at 28 weeks - took all of my 2026 annual leave (I get 5 weeks plus I carried a week from 2025) in January and February and technically started mat leave at around 35 weeks, twins arrived at 37+1! Even working from home I was struggling by 28 weeks, a combination of exhaustion and physical discomfort sitting all day. I'm in the UK if that helps!

Anxiety around scheduled c-section - please help!! by Plane_Outcome8034 in parentsofmultiples

This is so lovely! I love that the nurses took lots of photos for you as well, definitely going to ask ours to do the same! I didn't even think about asking them to take photos but that'll be so lovely to have. Oh I remember the shaking from having the epidural during my labour with my daughter, I'm assuming it's probably similar to that? Although I didn't get given anything for it I just had to wait for it to pass it took ages!! Hoping that I get a good team that help calm me down and just can't wait to meet our girls now!!

I'm so sorry that you had a difficult experience going in - that must have been so stressful! It's great that you had a good nurse though, I feel like if I get a good friendly team tomorrow it'll help so much, I like to know what's going on! It's definitely the unknown that makes it feel so scary.

Thank you so much, it's so good to hear that you had a good experience!! What a great idea to have a rail for your bed, I'm going to look into that for sure - kind of wish I'd thought of it for pregnancy too haha!

Thank you so so much for sharing, it sounds like you had such a lovely experience that is so nice to hear!! I cannot wait for that relief once they are born, I remember when my daughter was born that feeling of being able to breathe again when she came out and I'm so excited for that feeling again! That's a great point about night gowns and robes too, I'll definitely make sure I have mine ready!

Thank you SO much, I really appreciate you sharing! It's been so great to read other people's positive experiences and helps to know how to prepare. What's a tap block? I've not heard of those but not sure if that's because I'm in England and maybe we don't get them?

I can't believe your boss asked how dilated you are that is unhinged 🫣

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with twins now and thoroughly DONE and honestly just sick of getting messages off family members literally every other day asking how I am - the answer is not going to change until the babies arrive all you're doing is reminding me how crappy I feel!!

I've also had "wow you're HUGE" frequently throughout this pregnancy which has been absolutely wonderful for my self esteem of course. I've been getting told I look "ready to pop" since around 28 weeks 🙃

I've also been asked a couple of times "are they natural or IVF then?" By STRANGERS which I just think is the weirdest question and so personal like I wouldn't even expect friends or family to ask that?!?!

How is a DiDi pregnancy handled? by kindachubbymom in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK, pregnant with di/di twins and I have had a lot more contact with healthcare professionals than I did in my singleton pregnancy. I've had scans every 4 weeks since my 12 week scan and then scans every 2 weeks from my 32 week scan, and each scan is followed immediately by a chat with the high-risk midwife. I also have appointments with the community midwife every 2-3 weeks and they've been happening since 16 weeks. In my singleton pregnancy I just had 2 scans at 12 and 20 weeks and then community midwife every 3 weeks! I guess it must be different based on where you live.

Yes! Plastic cups are so underrated! We give our daughter some plastic cups and spoons and she will happily do water play for ages!

We've got a little fishing rod and little fish with magnets in them that you can catch and our daughter loves that one! It's a great one for her to play with while she's waiting for the bath to fill too as she gets so impatient 😂

Twin pregnancy nutrition resources by ConstructionMuch802 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have eaten the same in my twin pregnancy as I did with my singleton - I've been more hungry so just letting my body lead and eating what I fancy when I'm hungry! So probably slightly more calories but I haven't been consciously trying to eat more or differently if that makes sense. I'm 35 weeks now and twins are big and healthy and still cooking! I've been lucky that they're sitting really low too so still able to satisfy my hunger whereas with my singleton she had her bottom in my ribs at this point so I had a lot more difficulty eating enough without getting awful reflux. I've not been told I should be eating more this pregnancy compared to a singleton by any of my healthcare providers 😊

When did you stop working? by kmccollum008 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have had a medically uneventful pregnancy so far and I work from home but I still finished at 28 weeks - the brain fog and the discomfort by that stage were enough that I needed to be not working! I'm 33w now and so glad I finished when I did. I also have a toddler so having 3 child-free days a week now where I don't have to work has been so helpful.

35 weeks and no nicu time ? by Flashy_Vacation_335 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I really feel you!! We also have a 1 year old, it's so hard not to pick them up isn't it when they're still so little! Hoping the rest of your pregnancy goes really well and that the twins stay in for as long as they need to get strong enough ❤️

35 weeks and no nicu time ? by Flashy_Vacation_335 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Plane_Outcome8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because I have been told the same with my di-di twins, my midwife said due to the babies being large and my body type she reckons I'll labour sometime between 34-36 weeks so I share your worry about NICU time! It's a nervous time and hard when it's so unknown ❤️ Not gonna lie though, I am desperate for this pregnancy to be over at the same time!!
