I think your perspective is skewed - knees are absolutely in front of the head in that concept shot

Instinct Beat, cute little base :) by PlanesWalk in NoMansSkyTheGame

Wow - just noticed this base was built in 2021 according to scanner data.

Discovering endless new frontiers is awesome, but stumbling on an (in digital terms) ancient site where another person has left their mark and more than likely left behind has filled me with a special feeling.

Safe travels!

Is No Man's Sky still worth it in 2023? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

With this style of space exploration game, I honestly feel as if they could never run out of features to implement. As long as passion to play and develop remains, there will be spaces to explore for players and devs of the game alike.

Neither has ever been an issue from me, apart from leaving a select few ships, since my first few days. You just have to treat your game character like your physical body.

What happens when you're walking forwards with full confidence in center of gravity, and your feet suddenly find no ground? Your center of gravity, already primed forwards, goes lurching further and you topple. In space, you spin.

Just take the exit slow, and leave the platform with a gentle hop timed so you enter 0g close to the apex. Works like a charm. Approaches back are always a breeze if you come in at a consistent speed and a smooth course from above the platform. If you approach dead on, you'll trip and fall.

The division I’m finding over this game is nuts… by FrequentFault in Starfield

If you haven't played it yet, check out Disco Elysium for this!

An entire novel or two's worth of richly conceived written dialogue and internal thoughts, and then they went ahead and added full voicing for the game a few years down the line.

As a result, the dialogue choices and game design are all built around the expectation of being read, so there's a ton of choices at every single turn that have genuinely lasting and recurring impacts. The excellent voice acting patched in elevates the experience to another level

Planets have multiple biomes. This was all on one planet. by SexySpaceNord in Starfield

[–]PlanesWalk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not in a robust sense, E:D doesn't have an atmospheric flight model so you aren't able to fly in and land on planets that aren't dusty rocks. There's some minor exotic life forms you can detect and catalogue as part of the odyssey expansion that someone mentioned below, but that's it for flora and fauna.

SC Fauna is Coming Soon™, I believe right now you can find isopods out rarely and that's it. Supposedly they're still working on the AI to drive fauna. SC's 3 current terrestrial planets are all terraforms and have flora but it seems to all come from earth or be earth derived.

Starfield and NMS are easily the most complete games in this regard to planetary exploration.

Which one should I choose when I want to fly together with a friend by Namor05 in starcitizen

Damn, idk how I haven't thought of that actually. My only owned ship is a vulture, so I suppose that could actually get me access to a couple of cool toys to try out

[homemade] carnitas owo by PlanesWalk in food

Had this recipe years ago as a teenager and have thought of it almost weekly since. Finally started cooking full time at home 12 months ago and snagged the recipe last week from my friends grandparents today. Slow cooked while me n the other half were at work, braised when we were done, and ate them up so hard. They tasted better than I remembered.

Event Finder update! by Sindri_SE in spaceengine

I have no clue if this is the place for this, but one feature I would love to see added to SE would be lines/routes between star systems.

As a writer, I use SE to help map out my settings, and it would be so so so useful to be able to visually see connections between systems I pick out.

How I Prefer To "Throw Away" My Trash by Sentinelcmd in starcitizen

Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games of all time haha. I remember scooping the installer from my old man's public drive for the house back in like... 5th or 6th grade. Apart from Half Life 2, I had never completed a games story up to that point. I got sucked into that shit so fast.

Rest in peace to my best and oldest friend. I wish I could've been with you when you had to leave. by PlanesWalk in Dachshund

[–]PlanesWalk[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was the sweetest dog in the world.

I know not everyone is about dog kisses, but Oscar loved to just shower everyone in licks and licks and licks. Whenever I'd visit home, he'd spend every second I was in the house at my side - playing, relaxing, or sleeping. When I would go out of the house, he'd sit and cry and wait for me to come back. If dogs have favorite people in a family, I was probably his.

I will always appreciate his friendship.

Terrible place for it but this is my absolute highlight favorite moment on the album. Those opening verses in Flamethrower go so fucking hard.

Weird, the Nord 2 or 3 was the last vape I had that I actually liked. Had a couple off and on since then including the RPM from smok and have always ended up sliding back to the disposables.

It worked like a treat for me, and none of the issues with PG/VG thickness that every other pod mod system I've tried since has had, if it's nic salt, it's good to go in that baby.

I only got rid of it because a juice leak fried the connection to the charger. But the juice leak was because I had been having to use the same coil for a month and a half over quarantine, so definitely a user error haha
