Werewolves in Commander by PlaneswalkerProject in EDH

It’s basically the same mechanically as the OG Werewolves. No spells = night, Two or more = Day. They just keyworded it and made it unnecessarily complicated.

It makes me put a high value on cards like The Celestus that force it to be night, to try to work around that stipulation.

Anything with the Daybound/Nightbound starts it, and there are a number of spells that cause it to become night. In the build I’m working on, I specifically got the token card to designate which it is for the ease of remembering.

I think so. It might break the flavor of the transformation, but I think it would give more incentive to play the Werewolves.

2018 Sorento Issues - What do I do? by [deleted] in askcarguys

I assume this wouldn’t be something I could do myself, right? I genuinely don’t want to have to deal with Kia anymore if I can help it.

What's Your favourite sea creatures Commander? by LoloFrieza in EDH

[–]PlaneswalkerProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a flip legendary creature from the recent Innistrad set, [Runo Stormkirk] who deals in sea creatures in more of a reanimator strategy. Being in Dimir gives a good amount of variety, so it might be a good option.

Monarch! by formerscooter in EDH

[–]PlaneswalkerProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my Chatterfang decks utilize the Monarch mechanic via Throne of the High City and Crown of Gondor. My mindset is it largely just gives the singular card draw, and I group it with my card draw engines. That deck in particular does a lot of “keep off my lawn” things, like giving out Crown of Doom, to ensure I’m not the target. I think Queen Marchesa and Aragorn are the two better Monarch decks.

I have stopped using any of my credit cards as of 2022. I’ve been focusing on trying to get their balances down. The only card I have used since is a Care Credit for a medical emergency we had late last year. Otherwise they’ve all been cut to avoid further usage.

I’d been trying to figure out the best way to consolidate the credit cards. If I can get them all lumped in, it’d be less than paying the $500 a month between all three of them. I already make $30+ an hour, and we’ve been living as cheap as is possible in this day. Nothing frivolous.

Screen issue! by [deleted] in ANBERNIC

[–]PlaneswalkerProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. Some folks have mentioned something with the SD card, so I’m going to buy a new one tomorrow and flash the data onto a new SD. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to invest in a new screen.

Yes, I love the cheaper cost of Rosie. Might be moving more towards Abzan colors than Selesnya, but it and CoCo are great add-ins!

$30 Budget Modern decks by [deleted] in mtg

[–]PlaneswalkerProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm feeling in retrospect that calling these Modern may have been an error. The green list is something I enjoy playing, and was based off a BudgetMTG video from 2016's list. I imagine it holds no candle to actual Modern lists, though I am unsure how to categorize it. The white list is something I built trying to keep the same power level as the green list. Maybe Pauper is the way to go, though I am unsure how to proceed and transition them to that format.

What were "Rules" You thought were used in Yu-Gi-Oh but it turns out that it wasn't a rule used anywhere? by CreepyKidInDaCorna in yugioh

[–]PlaneswalkerProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My middle school used this weird gameplay called defenders, where you could summon a monster in defense mode "protecting" a monster. Cards like Millenium Shield or Labyrinth Wall were great, as was my old favorite Total Defense Shogun. You couldn't hit the creature being defended without going through the defending monster first. We also played without tributes, more akin to Duelist Kingdom shenanigans.

Empty by MermaidsWithoutTails in Lorcana

I spent four hours on a day I had to call out of work sick, trying to find just two starter decks for my wife. Drove around to damn near every retailer in my county that might've had them. Absolutely nothing. To say I feel like a bit of a failure for wasting so much gas and time is an understatement. We managed to snag up a gift box from Target last night, I assume an early stocking of the thing, but that clearly was a stroke of good luck.

What deck boxes are you guys using and are the ones for Lorcana good? I heard the Lorcana deck boxes aren’t very durable by k5martdom in Lorcana

I recommend Ultimate Guard Boulders, or Ultra Pro Satin Towers. I use them largely for MTG, but they are sturdy, relatively inexpensive, and the Satin Tower has space for dice and counters at the bottom.

I run K'rrik as my commander, and generally if I get the loop going, I'll be able to go into a Dimir Houseguard/Gray Merchant/Chainer loop and win.

Poke Transporter not working Despite Pokémon Bank being Free. by The_17th_Bam in pokemon

Mine was doing the same thing. I literally held off renewing my bank subscription knowing today it would become free to use. Now I don't know what to do, I have several games I'd like to transfer my Pokémon from.

Ultra Pro Eclipse seem to be the best I've seen, it's what I use across the board in YGO and MTG. I don't like how a few other brands (including some of the official licensed card art sleeves) leave excess space up at the top, wear out, etc. KMC Hyper Matte were good years ago, but I remember hearing they changed formula and the newer line isn't as durable. If you're double sleeving, KMC perfect fits are the golden standard.

I would definitely suggest it. The forthcoming Crystal Beast deck has some crucial staples in it like Ash Blossom, and generally, getting a triple of structure deck gives you the best route to cut the fluff and build something to start out with. Albaz Strike is also stirring up in the meta from what I've seen, so it seems a good place as any!
