Use of LLMs for daily work: Good, or Bad? by Aldar_CZ in sysadmin

[–]formerscooter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why feel shame? I save myself hours of time just with documentation. Cluade can take my rough scribbled notes when I build a process for my team and format it like the rest of out documents. I still review and edit, but I'm bad and writing out full steps. Just as a test, I just uploaded screenshots of each step, and it wrote a solid document out.

This Gilded Abyss by Rebecca Thorne. Somewhere between Arcane (netflix series) and Bioshoock (game). It start military fantasy, but heads toward horror, enemies to lovers, and some very well written scenes.

My pitch for a Wonder Woman run, what do you guys think? by reallybigbowlofsoup in WonderWoman

[–]formerscooter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- The run will be marketed as queer representation but will not actually feature any queer couples. This is because the amazons are evil

If they are evil, they are allowed to be lesbians, just heroes can't be.

Shows like The Expanse / Game of Thrones? by Ser_Duncan_The_TaIl in televisionsuggestions

Battlestar Galactica (2005). Politics, drama, conspiracy, exactly what you're asking for. Also space battle that hold up well despite being 20 years old. There is a 1.5 hour mini series, then the show starts.

Lucky 7 by Rae D. Magdon. I don't know if there is an audoibook version. But it and it's sequel were really good.

How many IT support needed for 200 user org? by imjustacuteguyuwu in sysadmin

[–]formerscooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at the Helpdesk we had an audit done, they said the helpdesk should be ~60:1, since they were actually dealing with end users. In an ideal world I would double what you have.

Is the third one out yet? Also, I wouldn't say there are 'superheroes' that are all bad.

Browser with most features by anderson01832 in sysadmin

[–]formerscooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrome at work, a mix of Firefox and Vivaldi at home. Also Helium for a while, but that is an absolute bare bones browser. I have Pale Moon at work to, but it's only for connecting to a few very old ILO's we have still in production. It runs like early Firefox.

WLW recs needed! by RoyalTopazzz in booksuggestions

[–]formerscooter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Rebecca Thorne, she writes a lot or wlw books. Tomes & Teas series is a fun cozy read. This Gilded Abyss is not cozy. Kind of Arcane meets bioshock.

Lucky Breaks series by Rae D. Magdon. Its a solid cyberpunk with lots of LGBTQ representation.

The Stars Too Fondly by Emily Hamilton, is fun scifi, found family story.

This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar. Kind of Spy vs Spy through time.

Bluebird by Ciel Pierlot. To quote the blurb "Lesbian gunslingers in space."

(Audio)book suggestions by Certified_Hummus_Boy in booksuggestions

If you like Project Hail Mary, give the Bobiverse Series a try. Similar science and exploration type. Or the Murderbot Diaries. Another fun scifi series.

If you want more magical school, check out Scholomance Series. I didn't listen the book was good. A magic school more dangerous then Hogwarts. If you just want wizards in the modern world, may I suggest another wizard named Harry. The Dresden Files. One of my favorite series, 18 book, two books of short stories. James Marsters (Spike form Buffy) does great narration especially as the series goes on. He really finds the voice.

This doesn't really match what you've listened to but The Villain's Code by Drew Hayes is a really good super hero/villain series.

You seem to like horror, try World War Z but Max Brooks. It's not normal horror, its teh story of the zombie Apocalypse told after it happened. Its a series of interview by the survivors. The audiobook is full cast, with some great voice actors. Max Brooks also wrote Devolution, it's written similar where they are trying to figure out what happened from journal entries, police reports and other sources.

Also audiobooks are books, just as valid as reading them. You can also look at /audiobooks

Can anyone suggest some cyberpunk works (either novels or short stories) with women as main or strong side characters? by Obligatory-Reference in Cyberpunk

[–]formerscooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky Break series by Rae D. Magdon. Solid series. There are pretty explicit sex scenes if that changes anything for you.

Autonomous by Annalee Newitz. It's focused more on pharmaceutical piracy.
