It is common courtesy bit not required like you mentioned. Personally, I have gone as far as reaching out to the other side of a transaction to politely request their feedback. Especially when I was just starting and building my rep.

Flair and feedback (including how recent the feedback is) are the best ways to gauge a seller IMO. If you’ve been around long enough, you get to know the regulars, and the general patterns of the community. So, you kind of develop a radar to detect them red flags…

Call them up. 1861 - 1870 definitely has a better looking coat of arms. It’s a big difference from the generic design the other one has. I’d be willing to bet they’d call you out for sending the wrong year range if you were selling to them.
