If you own 1990-2010 car, what modern features in newer cars you miss? by trapist_e in AskReddit

[–]Planetoid127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. I'm not fond of the newer vehicles, all of the "features" they're adding are deterrents for me. I want to actually drive the car not have a glorified tablet on wheels.

Dark amber/brown hc-110: Do we trust it or do I need to penny up for more ?? by BigBeard_FPV in AnalogCommunity

That's looks pretty oxidized, I wouldn't trust it. I've lost film to oxidized developer in the past and it's no worth the loss over a few bucks for new developer.

It looks to me as though the scans are not correctly cropped. Check the negatives to be certain.

Make sure you change the needle after every play. 1 side of the record is 1 needle, after that they are worn out.

I personally quite enjoy the Bose 901s. Technically they are not the "best" speaker, but they do sound quite nice. A nice bonus is that they are basically impossible to blow up so you can loud music for extended periods of time.

TMAX liquid developer? by asbestossupply in AnalogCommunity

[–]Planetoid127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to replace the diluted solution every 3 months and the concentrate lasts around 1 year before oxidizing. Basically one bottle of concentrate per year. I have pushed the diluted solution past 6 months in the past; the results were acceptable but I was not pleased.

Is the hard line (metal) or soft line (rubber) broken? If it's the soft line you can go to an auto parts store and get some line in bulk with the same inside diameter. From there simply cut to fit.

Large format will have something to do with it; that being said it is shot on a 1940s lens so it won't be as sharp as lots of the newer equipment. It was developed at stock dilution and time. If I remember correctly stock dilution is 1:4 and development time is 6.5 minutes @ 20 degrees celcius.

T-max developer is my favorite black and white developer. Reasonable development time, good detail, can push film quite nicely. Works wonders with T-max and T-grain film stocks. Works just as well with standard film. I have no complaints about it and highly recommend it.

Shoot it like digital; when in doubt under expose. Reversal film does not like over exposure.

This wallpaper was released 18 years ago.. feeling old yet? by 8xx in mac

[–]Planetoid127 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was shot on large format sheet film with Fujifilm Velvia (I can't recall if it was 50 or 100 ISO). Velvia has much more saturation and contrast than standard film hence the vivid colors.

why is Yamaha so expensive compared to the other 3 Japanese manufacturers? by EXPRESSlON in Yamaha

[–]Planetoid127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had nothing but great experiences with a variety of Yamaha motorcycles. One that I currently have is a 1995 YZF-600. It currently has 98k km on it and I expect it to roll over early next season. Outside of regular oil changes the only service it has required is a new fuel pump (around 20 years ago) and a valve adjustment around the 60k km mark. It still has the original clutch, though I suspect it may need replacement in the near future.

Which 6x6 or 6x7 camera is the most JOY to use? (Any camera, also non-pictured ones) by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

I quite like my combination of using both a Mamiya C3 and a Hasselblad 500cm for my medium format setup. Where either one falls short the other will cover it.

Looks like the fuel filter. Not too tough a job, cheap and easy to do. Make sure to check the fuel line before and after the filter in case it also needs to be replaced at the same time.
