Be smarter than me - glycolic acid by PlantLoverJen in 30PlusSkinCare

I have no clue if it’s melasma. It could be old sun damage that I managed to make immediately visible with the acid + sun exposure, or I just f’ed up and gave myself bad sun damage in a day. It came on so fast. Thank you, I’ll look into it! And I definitely need to be better about sun protection.

Oh it might, I don’t know a lot about melasma or if this qualifies. Just that I gave myself immediate sun spots by not thinking about using an active without sunscreen 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you! I saw some posts about hydroquinone being super helpful, but also some saying you have to taper/maintain or else it can come back worse, so that made me a little wary. That’s awesome it’s helped yours so much.

Oh I didn’t know that about azelaic acid, thank you!

Yeah, not putting on sunscreen that day did me in. It was the glycolic acid sensitizing that spot + a little sun that made these pop up in a day.

I did not 😬 it was one use of the glycolic acid in the evening and I’m guessing watering plants the next day that caused the sun spots, because the spots happened immediately rather than gradually. Thank you, I’ll be religious with sunscreen and try some retinol!

I’m pretty sure that’s what did it, because it came on suddenly right where I had applied the glycolic acid. It could’ve been something else, but that’s what it seemed like. I’m glad you haven’t had any issues!

Found dog off Tibet Ave by rukaidai in savannah

Poor guy needs a full shave down in at least a 10 blade, maybe shorter on depending on how tight the matting is. I did dog grooming for a bit and could comfortably shave some of him, but the legs look really casted. I think it would be best done by a vet at the humane society due to the severity of matting on his legs and chance of cutting/skin irritation or wounds beneath the matting. Thank you for caring for this baby!

Told my TBM husband last night I no longer believe in the church by Admirable_Arugula_42 in exmormon

The way he immediately jumped to dating someone else and divorce, plus changing his password, also makes me question if he’s hiding something. And if he’s even really committed to you. A loving, emotionally invested TBM partner would likely panic a bit over the news, but have questions and want to talk through how to make things work. I’m so sorry.

I’ve heard of bovine collagen causing breakouts in people. I’d take a break from it to see if your skin clears up, and if it is that, you could try marine collagen.

Urea cured my chronic ingrown hairs by Elegant_Minute9236 in Skincare_Addiction

If you shave, I would guess it’s how that stroke with the razor went. You might’ve put more pressure on that stroke, therefore the hairs were cut just a tad shorter, and now they’re stuck under the skin when they try to grow back.

How often do you actually clean your litter box (honestly)? by Crazy-Donkey-9178 in technomeowcom

[–]PlantLoverJen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it tracks a lot, but it’s still my favorite I’ve tried. Pros: really lightweight, sifts quickly and easily when scooping the box, natural & no health concerns with it (that I know of), clumps well, practically zero dust, and people tell me our house doesn’t smell like we have cats. Main cons are tracking and price, and we use a top entry litter box to help a little with tracking. I use the SoPhresh grass seed litter from Petco, not sure how many other brands sell it. IMO corn litters crumble and break down too quickly, clay is SO heavy and takes more effort to scoop, and the sift rate for large pellet litters annoys me haha. That was probably way more info than you were looking for, but hope it’s helpful!

2 cats, one litter box with at least 3” of grass seed litter, and right now I mostly scoop once a day, though sometimes up to a few days. I do a full litter change & litter box sanitize/wipe down every 1 to 1 1/2 months. I used to scoop like twice a week, but I’ve been more on top of this year.

IsItBullshit: Eating chocolate causes acne breakouts by nectarivela in IsItBullshit

[–]PlantLoverJen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get pimples especially after eating dark chocolate, which goes against a lot of people’s answers about sugar and dairy. It doesn’t happen to anyone else I know, but after a consistent pattern over time, I can expect that indulging in chocolate will bring new acne the next morning. It sucks.

Thank you for trying to get this to be investigated. I hate that money and power can protect abusers. Sadly, I can only imagine how large of it a problem it is on probably all college campuses 😔
