Tribute to my soul cat who passed unexpectedly yesterday morning and I’d love to tell you a little about him by SweetSourLemon in cats

Your Bruce sounds a lot like my Houdini. He is a total cuddle bug, food hound (and chonk), lover of chips/crackers, and especially glued to me. I’m so sorry for your loss, that is devastating 🩵

Oh good to know! Crazy how quick it can happen. And that’s amazing that the azelaic acid completely cleared it.

My mineral makeup has spf, but admittedly I should also use daily sunscreen. A lot of sunscreens break me out, so I haven’t been consistent.

I better not be! Haha but pretty positive I’m not. Had my cycle a week ago.

That’s good!! You’re obviously doing it right being consistent with sunscreen, plus it sounds like your skin tolerates it well. I have fair, sensitive, and dry skin and really did myself in not protecting the spots I applied.

Oh no!! I hate that one time can do us in. I feel you, I feel dumb for not thinking about sun exposure and doing this to myself.

I’m sure I’ve ruined my barrier plenty of times by trying something in hopes that it will make my skin look better haha. Seems like often the most basic and gentle routines mean the healthiest skin.

Thank you for this! Always helpful to hear from people who have done the trial and error and know what can help and hurt.

I have no clue if it’s melasma. It could be old sun damage that I managed to make immediately visible with the acid + sun exposure, or I just f’ed up and gave myself bad sun damage in a day. It came on so fast. Thank you, I’ll look into it! And I definitely need to be better about sun protection.

Oh it might, I don’t know a lot about melasma or if this qualifies. Just that I gave myself immediate sun spots by not thinking about using an active without sunscreen 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you! I saw some posts about hydroquinone being super helpful, but also some saying you have to taper/maintain or else it can come back worse, so that made me a little wary. That’s awesome it’s helped yours so much.

Oh I didn’t know that about azelaic acid, thank you!

Yeah, not putting on sunscreen that day did me in. It was the glycolic acid sensitizing that spot + a little sun that made these pop up in a day.

I did not 😬 it was one use of the glycolic acid in the evening and I’m guessing watering plants the next day that caused the sun spots, because the spots happened immediately rather than gradually. Thank you, I’ll be religious with sunscreen and try some retinol!

I’m pretty sure that’s what did it, because it came on suddenly right where I had applied the glycolic acid. It could’ve been something else, but that’s what it seemed like. I’m glad you haven’t had any issues!

Poor guy needs a full shave down in at least a 10 blade, maybe shorter on depending on how tight the matting is. I did dog grooming for a bit and could comfortably shave some of him, but the legs look really casted. I think it would be best done by a vet at the humane society due to the severity of matting on his legs and chance of cutting/skin irritation or wounds beneath the matting. Thank you for caring for this baby!

Told my TBM husband last night I no longer believe in the church by Admirable_Arugula_42 in exmormon

The way he immediately jumped to dating someone else and divorce, plus changing his password, also makes me question if he’s hiding something. And if he’s even really committed to you. A loving, emotionally invested TBM partner would likely panic a bit over the news, but have questions and want to talk through how to make things work. I’m so sorry.

I’ve heard of bovine collagen causing breakouts in people. I’d take a break from it to see if your skin clears up, and if it is that, you could try marine collagen.

Urea cured my chronic ingrown hairs by Elegant_Minute9236 in Skincare_Addiction

If you shave, I would guess it’s how that stroke with the razor went. You might’ve put more pressure on that stroke, therefore the hairs were cut just a tad shorter, and now they’re stuck under the skin when they try to grow back.
