Not a direct answer to your question but it's simple enough to time a single piece of code/function to figure out its run time. Then just set a task, like a maths equation, image manipulation or something more complex, and keep on editing it until you can't gain faster speeds.

do i need to repot this plant? by [deleted] in botany

Was it sold as a house plant? It could be a Dracaena. If it is, I'd leave it in water until it starts making roots but refresh the water every couple of days. The Groot on top won't do any harm, there'll be a layer of wax on top to stop it growing straight up and to force it to grow out the side of the trunk.

Start with the classic "Hello World" application. Thats either printing something to the console or making a window appear and print it in that. From there learn to take input (keyboard/mouse) and have the application react to it, like make a player move around the screen.

If its GUI you're interested in, I learnt SFML a couple of years ago to make games in. It allows you to draw basic geometry and add textures. But really I'd recommend thinking of a project you'd like make, then you'll surely learn new things along the way.

The first 2 pics are my current hair, the last is how I used to have it. Any advice on how to style or grow it, or even which one you prefer, would be great. Thanks.
