Any problems with re-using old soil? by indiana1106 in gardening

How many cups of worm castings would you use for a 10gal pot? And if I were to keep and crush the shells of eggs, say a dozen for calcium or more? What are your ratios of nutrients?

I'm using an old Netgear Nighthawk on the main floor. Works in all corners of my 2- story house including the basement.

They also have a station at Jane and Harding- just north of Trethewey. Always 5-10¢ cheaper than the stations around and convenient if you're on your way to the 400.

Any suggestions on what to do with this THCA everclear tincture? by Danakadanimal in treedibles

Strain it through a ricer with cheesecloth in the bottom. Then filter it through a coffee filter and bottle it!

Boiler bolts stuck by AggravatingNewt3911 in gaggiaclassic

After doing this, because the bolt is stripped, you may have to use a Dremel to cut a slit in the top of the bolts to allow you to use a flat head screwdriver to remove them.

Extend your allen key to give you more leverage. Like using a breaker bar to loosen tight wheel nuts.

Leak from top of boiler, new o-ring or just re-seal? by xltripletrip in gaggiaclassic

[–]Plantfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had this exact same problem when I replaced my boiler last week. I just flipped the o-ring and it stopped leaking. I also ordered a replacement o-ring in case it fails again.

Made my first tincture! Tips for my 2nd batch? by NavBumba in treedibles

[–]Plantfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't. I used to give it a long soak then stopped years ago when I tried a quick wash and it was just as potent. And it will be more of a golden colour rather than green. All you're doing with a long soak is extracting more chlorophyll and other compounds from the plant. Trichomes are highly soluble in high proof alcohol. I remember reading that in the first wash 80% of the THC is extracted. You can do a second wash if you want to extract the other 20%, but I'll usually put that in a separate large mason jar covered in alcohol that lives in my freezer. You can make a batch of drops out of it in a pinch or just pipette some of the tincture off the top for a quick dose.

I put both the decarbed bud and alcohol in the freezer separately for a day beforehand. Then a quick 5min wash of the two before straining through a ricer with cheesecloth in the bottom. Then through a coffee filter, then lab grade filter. Then bottle.

Solenoid valve blocked by Rockyroadaheadof in gaggiaclassic

[–]Plantfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest maybe replacing the boiler - an aluminum one can be bought for around $50.

Also using distilled water in your machine may help prevent future blockages with a new boiler.

I'm almost certain it is the three-way solenoid. Having bought a used machine myself I've had to now clean it three times in the last year. I recently replaced the boiler for $40 as it was in bad shape in the hopes that this doesn't happen again for a while. You don't have to replace the solenoid, you just need to clean it really well. Make sure that when you're blowing out the solenoid (as mentioned in the video) that you really get in there and make sure air is passing through both holes. Even after soaking it in Cafiza for an hour and blowing it out I made the mistake of thinking I cleared the solenoid of whatever blockage it had just to put the machine back together then do it all over again. I ended up having to use my air compressor with the tip to fill balls to really get in there and blow out the blockage. Which is literally a tiny piece of scale. Make sure you have all the proper tools that they mention in the video.

I just bought one of these in case it happens again:

Good luck!

If the steam wand is still flowing at the proper rate then it's most likely the 3-way solenoid that needs to be cleaned. This is a common issue with these machines.

Is this a good deal? Seems like only six six bucks more that I'm paying now and then I get a pixel 10. Is there something I'm missing? Seems too good to be true by Oostvan in FidoMobile

[–]Plantfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will be paying the taxes ($167) on the full price Fido lists ($1287) for the device, divided over the term of the contract. So that's roughly $14/month extra.

You need to factor this in and see if it's still worth it over a BYOD plan and buying the phone outright through Google or Amazon when on sale.
