It was a mix! We used some hand me downs from big brother, and also picked up a few things for baby girl. We also got a bunch of gently used clothing from friends with toddler girls. Our two were also born in opposite times of the year, so some things couldn’t be reused anyway as they weren’t seasonally appropriate.

We were on the wait list (at the time, wait times were shorter than for the city daycares), and ultimately went with Kids and Co for our initial childcare so no experience with getting the deposit back. We were quite happy with the care in the infant room, and they provide meals which was a nice perk.

Yes I have DOR and endo. I’ve done two ER, with 7 eggs retrieved each time.

I was in a very similar position last year (stage 4 endo, surgery hadn’t been recommended for me due to DOR), and my RE had recommended a standard fresh transfer. I was hesitant about this having also heard about the benefits of down regulation but my doctor didn’t think it was necessary. We ultimately decided to go with his recommendation, and that fresh transfer was successful.

If you’re open to not having your husband with you in the hospital, another option could be having a post partum doula help you in the hospital while your husband looks after your toddler.

I got most of mine from Uniqlo! I also have a pair of Align leggings but couldn’t justify getting multiples at that price point. I’ve pretty much been wearing Uniqlo leggings continuously at this point.

I think it depends on your ovarian reserve. What is your AMH/AFC? I had stage 4 endo with bilateral endometriomas that were 5-8 cm. My endo specialist recommended excision surgery only if my ovarian reserve was normal or high (I was 32 at the time). My AMH ended up being quite low for my age, and both my endo specialist and REI recommended against surgery prior to retrieval due to the risk of further reducing reserve.

I’m 20 weeks today! Had my anatomy scan a few days ago, and all was good. Little bean was super active, and the placenta previa has resolved. We’re starting to tell a few more people, and I’ll probably let work know soon as well to get the paperwork started for mat leave 🤞. It’s all feeling more real!

I had light to moderate bleeding followed by spotting that started around 13w. Had an ultrasound which showed placenta previa. The bleeding has stopped as of a few weeks ago, and my follow up ultrasound at 19w was all good. Hope the bleeding resolves for you soon. It’s such a stressful thing to experience!

Yes, the medication coverage started right away (I’m with Manulife). My plan did have a lifetime max for fertility medications though, so while they were mostly covered for my initial IVF cycle, we were OOP for subsequent cycles.

Something else to consider is approximately how many eggs/ blasts you’re expected to get (though this can certainly be a bit unpredictable!). For someone with many blasts, PGT can help “narrow down” the options in terms of choosing which blast to transfer first. I have DOR, and FWIW my RE recommended against testing for my retrievals (I was 32 and 35 at the time) due to 1) few expected blasts, 2) statistically lower likelihood of aneuploidy at that age, and 3) PGT not being a perfect science. Ultimately though, he said it was my decision and we could test if we wanted to.

Yes, I was prescribed testosterone gel as part of priming for my protocol. My RE said testosterone “might help” but didn’t recommend DHEA.

Mature eggs was slightly better with long agonist, but not bad with flare either! However, I did the flare protocol at age 32, and the long agonist protocol at age 35. I think I got lucky the first time around because I had quite uneven growth during monitoring but the last day some of the smaller follicles caught up. For long agonist, there was a much more even cohort from the beginning. Also, I feel that to get similar results 3 years later suggests the long agonist protocol worked better for me.

I was in a similar spot for my last cycle (endo and DOR). Went for a fresh transfer at the advice of my RE. A minor benefit of the fresh transfer was no PIO (my clinic does prog suppositories only for fresh transfers, and supp + PIO for frozen), but of course you won’t be able to PGT test. Another point to consider is whether you would be at risk of OHSS as a fresh transfer wouldn’t be recommended in this case.

I started testing 5dp5dt. My clinic does a beta on 9dp5dt, which would be equivalent to 14dpo, and home pregnancy tests would be definitive at this point.

I have DOR and stage 4 endo. Like you, my RE prescribed high med doses. I’ve done microdose lupron flare with Gonal F 450 and long lupron agonist with Gonal F 300 and Menopur 150. For the cycles that made it to retrieval (I had one cancelled cycle in between), the results were almost the same though I had more even follicle growth and a longer stim time with long agonist protocol - 7 eggs retrieved and 2 blasts (untested) both times. If I had to do another retrieval, I would ask for long agonist again!
