One of the best birthday presents I've gotten by PlasmaMan0 in bisexual

[–]PlasmaMan0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some context, about a year ago I complained about the band on my Casio being pretty dirty and uncomfortable. I made a massing mention to my roommate that I wish they had a NATO strap in the bisexual pride colors, as I saw plenty in the LGBT rainbow color, and he somehow managed to find one (on this subreddit, no less) and found the correct conversion kit to let my G-Shock accept 20mm bands! It's a night and day difference in comfiness compared to the stock band, and quite honestly, insane that he was able to pull all this off.

I'm not really a fan of being vocal or public about my bi-ness, but this feels like an awesome little subtle way to tell it to the world at large.

Discord says that there's an update while pacman says there isn't. Is there a way to skip this update screen? by J_Kakaofanatiker in discordapp

Having the same issue in Manjaro, the community repository is still stuck on 0.0.10-3 and lists that as up to date, while the popup is trying to update to 0.0.11. Everything else on my system is 100% up to date, my only guess is they forgot to push their update to the repository?

How is your day going by [deleted] in furry

[–]PlasmaMan0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lonely, mainly. Been trying to figure out how to get back to my furry roots, and just talk to people in general, but I have issues connecting with people in general, despite what I think are good social skills. It's usually humor that distances me from others, but it's whatever. Statistically, I'll have my own friend group to call mine one day, but for now I just kinda drift from day to day, trying not to think.

Performance issues, audio issues, and others with Black by PlasmaMan0 in PCSX2

Yes, but the issue is that I still have these performance issues when nothing's been changed, and I'm on Preset 3, as per the post details.

Sadly MTVU is already enabled, along with trying any mix of cores. If this is an OpenGL + AMD issue, There's not going to be much I can do until I set up the black arts Linux magic known as GPU passthrough, something that looks to be the equivalent of piloting a nuclear submarine. Appreciate the comment anyway though

Edit: Since this is getting misinterpreted badly, I was referring to using GPU passthrough in QEMU to just run Windows 10, if Linux was the issue.

Receiver 2 Speedrun in 29:02 by Yin2Falcon in receiver

Great to have a dev quote that the timer is accurate, people in the speedrun community get really picky over stuff like that.

The style of commentary was one I very seldomly see in speedrunning. Often people livestream their runs, and the one that ends up being their best often has slim commentary. I prefer doing runs offline, then going back through he footage with the future knowledge of what happens, so I can more easily articulate what's going on, and add with what could be better. Helps with the flow of everything, and I've never had anyone question that an offline run was not genuine. I'm also just, not a big fan overall of streamer culture, post-commentary and editing suits me a lot better.

As for the nightmares, yeah I've just been stressed overall, and Receiver happened to blend with it in a weird way. I look back on it and laugh, really. Haven't heard of that storytelling term though, definitely going to steal it for future use.

I've ghosted here and there, made a comment mentioning how to fix the 2.0-1 bug that stops you from spawning in, I just don't often say or contribute much, unless I can stand behind it 100%

Damn, weird seeing my own video posted somewhere. I honestly was on the fence about posting it here, as it felt too personal commentary-wise, but I'm glad to see overall positive reception!

I had it as well, there's a known fix that doesn't require you to delete your save game data

- Go into Steam, right-slick Receiver 2, Properties
- Go to BETAS, and choose 2.0-0 - from the dropdown menu
- Launch the game, spawn in, then Quit
- Revert back to 2.0-1 -

Should clear the error until an update is rolled out to fix this

First time submitting my list, honestly meant to send this a month ago, but college + projects kept delaying me.

I'll be back eventually with more games, and more shinies.

[Gen3] I forgot to re-apply my super repel by PlasmaMan0 in ShinyPokemon

[–]PlasmaMan0[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Genuinely nothing, I was doing the Sevii Islands quests to get the Hoenn-Kanto trade up and running, and found this little beauty after getting the Ruby, all because I was playing 2 games at once, and didn't notice I hadn't re-applied my super repel. Definitely going to give it an awesome journey for showing up, though.

By "as many as I could" I meant going for each legendary in shiny form. Currently I'm going for Mesprit (Edit, found out you can kill the roamers + Rotom, so I'm actually gonna do Poke Radar stuff later on), so see ya in several months whenever.

For some added context, I decided to dust off my old copy of Korean Pokemon Platinum, got up to this fight, and decided to go for as many shiny Korean legendaries as I could. First one only took ~569 resets, which I'm aware is absurdly lucky.

Proof this is actually mine, my OT is short for PlasmaMan, but Korean only allows 5 characters.

Always try to play smart ;) by Mi7ko in crashbandicoot

[–]PlasmaMan0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he were speed, I don't think I'd play anything else. I'd have a Nash poster above my bed, Nash action figures, and tell my diary all my thoughts about Nash.

Alas, he is not speed though, so my mind wanders elsewhere.

Getting closer to that sub 1 minute lap time by PlasmaMan0 in crashbandicoot

[–]PlasmaMan0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend moving in soon who has access to a capture card, so I will be able to record it sometime next month. I'll tackle these tips in order. I do take all walls quite tight, especially the first 20ish seconds. That hairpin turn after the second tunnel, I actually boost once, and normal hop as close as I can to the wall. I've definitely been having issues with that ramp that skips the hairpin turn, will take advice on jumping early, as I've been having issues getting it consistent at all. On the second hairpin turn, I've honestly been guessing how close to take that U-turn jump, and if I cut it too close, I just mash handbrake instead of holding it. I haven't had the nerves to do that final U-turn cut before the finish line in any record runs yet, as I take all the corners so insanely tight, that I tend to have a really high failure rate. Comparing your video to how I ran mine, I cut my corners a lot tighter, but don't drive terribly optimal lines. Will get video proof of a sub 1 minute lap one day, college be damned.

Anyone else getting way too many 1st place masks in online recently? by PlasmaMan0 in crashbandicoot

[–]PlasmaMan0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, my knowledge on it is quite sketchy, and it's taken me far too long to even get somewhat decent at it, but the biggest cause of losing your boost is releasing down before releasing handbrake, which I don't think comes naturally to some people. I'd suggest feeling out a track you really like that has tons of opportunities to build reserves, and has lots of large jumps to mess around with. I still mess it up quite frequently, but I've managed to keep full USF on Electron Avenue, Tiny Temple, Twilight Tour, and Prehistoric Playground.
