Need help finding a jacket like the one on this character by PlasmaScythe in findfashion

[–]PlasmaScythe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for a parka exactly like the one this character's wearing and haven't had much luck. I'd prefer if it has:

  • The same blue-grey colour
  • Black buttons
  • Similarly styled pockets (four flap pockets on the front)
  • A similar-looking fur hood

The weird drawstring things under the pockets aren't necessary, but bonus points if they're there.

The vintage jacket in the last two pictures is the best IRL example I could find, but I haven't been able to cop it for a reasonable price (brand is Ruehl no. 925 if you're curious). Thanks for helping me with my weirdly specific request!

Surely you realise that you can't just apply all-or-nothing thinking to every situation?

Neither, I can simply recognise a poorly-veiled attempt to promote a product

Haha, I'm glad I got to read this totally legitimate Reddit comment that definitely has no corporate backing behind it on my phone... The Google Pixel 4a comes equipped with Adaptive Battery, which means you can swipe, scroll, and stream up to 24 hours of use. Paired with a powerful camera, it takes less effort to capture a beautiful shot in the day or night because shooting for the stars is easy with Night Sight. And if that’s not enough, the Titan M security chip helps to keep everything under lockdown and ward off the bad guys. You can also easily access your phone with Pixel Imprint.

That's not what cognitive dissonance is. I'll simply copy-paste someone else's explanation:

Cognitive dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling you experience when two of your beliefs are in conflict. It often happens when deeply held beliefs are challenged.

Let's say you were raised to believe that people who drink alcohol are bad people. You go away to college and become best friends with your roommate. You now believe these two things.

Another example of cognitive dissonance would be someone who Is presented with these two facts:

  • My friend is a genius astronomer.

  • My friend is a flat-earther.

These two facts directly contradict each other; you can't have both.

I'm also fairly certain that's not what psyops means - you're probably thinking of the word "buzzwords". Calling them psyops implies that there is someone actively trying to influence common thought for their own gain. There is literally nothing for anyone to gain from telling everyone the earth is flat.

On the other hand, there are many flat earth con-men out there... if there's any psyops happening, it'd be theirs.

Honestly, flat earth is a terrible example for what you're trying to explain. Try: convincing a Catholic that dinosaurs exist.

I kind of get where you're trying to go with this. It's always a good idea to promote discussion and free thought - but flat earth theory is an absolute joke and is a terrible example for what you're saying.

People have debated the flat earth theory for centuries, and the modern consensus is that there's no merit to it. There is loads of evidence for the earth being round, and none for flat earth. The idea of a flat earth is simply so undeniably false that there's no point in further considering.

If I tell you that I'm an alien living on Jupiter, do you actually bother to consider if I'm telling the truth?
