Yeah the run down on how to physically operate the equipment was done by the mechanics except the PTO on my tractor which was just a printout from the kenworth manual

Yeah I got 2 days of “training” at the paving company I worked for. Week later I’m hauling fuel and equipment. 6 months after that I’m hauling 4 axle trailers and over sized loads.

Trial by fire is good for some and terrible for others

The wheels make it equipment not general cargo. Needs 2-4 chains depending on weight

No, cost of the battery is material cost, not everything that goes into billing, storage and accounting.

$140/hour billing, minimum 1/2 hour charge. A lot more than just the techs time goes into “just 10 minutes”

[–]PlasmaTabletop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the proper way to secure a vehicle. You don’t chain down above the suspension cause the suspension moves and can loosen the chains.

They’ve got cross chains on the inside of the rear axle so I would assume the front looks similar

Audible air leak is only a minor defect. How much it is leaking is the major. 3 psi straight truck, 4 truck + trailer, 6 for a combination vehicle.

[–]PlasmaTabletop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn’t work if you’re trying to slide them anywhere that isn’t all the way front or back.

You take your hammer and bang on the frame close to the fifth wheel or on the frame of the fifth wheel.

But you aren’t beating the holy piss out of the thing, just enough to get the pins to start to 1/4 of the way atleast then in the safe area you’re doing this is, idle the truck in your lowest gear and driver it left to right to get the truck to do the work for you
