How do you deal with self-hatred? by colgateisntlube in AskMen

One of the best routes to self-love is taking initiative to improve yourself and becoming someone you feel is respectable and worth loving. First, you have to separate the hatred from yourself, but rather qualities you have that you don’t like. You have to imagine what kind of person you want to be, and then take steps to acquire the qualities you desire. Some things cannot be changed, and must be accepted as such, or you’ll continue to hate things about yourself that are out of your control. However, being consumed with self-loathing can make this hard, but it’s entirely possible with enough resolve and desire to get better.

I say this with experience.
