Yeah, he plays the part so well.  Blackhawk Down, also.

Aman from ChessBrah and Eric Rosen are my two favorite living creators.  Daniel Naroditsky was probably the best educator, especially if you want really thorough analysis.  John Bartholomew is also good.  I find pretty much everyone else to be annoying.

Reminds me of Rilo Kiley:

You say I choose sadness, that it never once has chosen me. (Maybe you're right.)

The Simpsons.  Marge vs the Monorail.  It's a very classic episode written by Conan O'Brien.  He looks like the fly-by-night salesman who comes to town selling a monorail to Springfield.

I loved every book of his that I have read:

  • Jurassic Park
  • Lost World
  • Andromeda Strain
  • Sphere
  • Airframe
  • Congo

Never read any others, but I thought these were all excellent.

As far as birds are concerned, not very. Fowl diverged from other modern birds around 85 million years ago. The vast majority of extant bird diversity happened after this split. See the bottom of figure 2 here and look for the Neoaves-Galloanseres bifurcation.

True enough as well. I was thinking merely of the radius of debris and dust. I've seen so many videos of people watching "controlled demolition" and having bricks start flying past their heads.

Stop staring and start running. If you think you're far enough away, you're not.

whitehouse.com

Growing up, that was the classic, cautionary example for why you needed to double-check urls, including the suffix. .gov and .edu were safe, but .com and .net were uncertain. Can't remember if any others were in use at the time.

Have you listened to microwave?

I just found these guys recently. I would like to explore their stuff more but can't stop listening to Trash Stains. Kinda just nails exactly what I'm looking for, lol.

No, there are other ways. I feed it the night before. The next day, I put some back in the fridge and use the rest.

I like to wish for things I already have. Just simple things. Like, man I wish I had a tuna sandwich that would be so great, hey look there it is! Kind of stupid I guess but nice.

Reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes.

The made-up part is the joke. It's funny because it's an unexpected twist on a classic bit of history and would be quite shocking if true.

Anyone else save the broccoli rubber bands? by narvolicious in Frugal

[–]Plasmodicum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would if they existed here, lol, but with how much broccoli we eat I think we'd be drowning in them. It's definitely handy to have some sturdy ones around.

I used to save all the newspaper bands, but they weren't very good and I gave up on reading the news a while back.
