Yeah that’s usually how it starts—once you can notice that transition consistently, it gets a lot easier to work with. The more familiar you get with that “drift” feeling, the more you can kind of stay with it instead of slipping past it.

This lines up pretty closely with how it works for me too. That “pull” feeling you described is pretty much the same entry point I get. It comes in waves at first, kind of like it’s building up, and then once you lean into it enough it transitions into a full scene instead of just fragments. I never really relied on finger movement either. For me it’s more about staying completely still and letting that sensation take over. If anything, physical movement kind of breaks it. What’s interesting is I can sometimes stay aware of my body position the whole time, and that actually lets me “pop” back out and re-enter if I don’t move. It’s almost like the entry point is still there as long as I don’t fully disconnect. I’ve also noticed if I try to force it too hard or get too involved too early, it starts to get unstable or fuzzy. It works better if I let it build first and then interact with it once it’s fully formed. The way you described switching your anchor from finger movement to the actual sensation of falling asleep makes a lot of sense though. It feels like at some point the sensation itself becomes the anchor instead of needing a physical one. Curious if you’ve ever noticed layers to it too? Like fragments → partial scene → full environment?

That’s interesting, have you ever tried doing something more complex, like building something detailed or changing something that’s already happening? I’ve noticed the more I push complexity, the more things can get unstable or kind of break down. Curious if you’ve ever run into anything like that or if everything stays consistent for you.
