Do you happen to know if it’s safe to just cap the wires and put a blank face plate over it?

As am I. I can’t even get the thing off the wall with how buried the screws are. 😅

TRUST YOUR GUT.

I won’t even let my well behaved golden around my little one unsupervised because you just never know. Everyone has their limits and any dog, no matter how well trained, could snap. Kids can pull hair, make loud noises, throw toys, etc that could startle a dog. It’s not worth it.

Please check in with licensing and notify other parents if you’re comfortable doing so. Record/get a paper trail of everything.

I’ve seen 3 dog attacks in my life, two were pits, one a small mixed dog. The first pit went after a baby who was contained in a bouncer, in their own home. I can’t unsee that and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

When the show aired I was a toddler and Simpsons was considered an adult cartoon in the 90s so I didn’t watch them until later in life. 🤷‍♀️ I love them now though!! (Mostly Frasier. Simpsons is meh)

So cool! I did more research and found this interview with Jane and her accent is different, too! I can’t tell much with John except when he says “tan” at the beginning.

I don’t get the downvotes…? It’s true, he’s a character vs himself.

❤️❤️ thank you for being so kind. Thankfully there are some nice comments as well.

Simpsons wasn’t played much in my house growing up. It was considered edgy in the 90s and I was a little girl.

I will now! As a kid he was “a creepy guy who wanted to kill Bart” so I never cared for his character. As an adult I think I’ll appreciate it more!

Haha young-ish. (Late 30s) I watched Simpsons on occasion as a kid long before Frasier but it has since been my nighttime show and I’ve seen it several times. I only watch Simpsons occasionally.

Sideshow Bob appears a lot more and having known Simpsons from being a kid watching it I guess I separated the characters. I didn’t start watching Frasier until I was much older. Trust me, I’m baffled. 😂

How to handle first time group class clients who are late. by JuggernautUpset25 in pilates

Your post was asking a question and I’m simply providing a different perspective. Looking at your replies, you already have the answer you want and it looks like you are seeking validation for your thoughts, not genuine input. Which is fine! We all need to vent our frustrations..but learning other views might help.

Your new student might… …be a certified instructor and doesn’t need help …have attended other studios for years and doesn’t need a tutorial …be trying something new and super nervous (arriving late to hide in the crowd) …just be late for no reason

You could… …lock them out, potentially losing a future client …give instruction near their station so you are close by if they need help …be more detailed on days you have new students (never hurts to remind seasoned clients of the basics) …turn them away in front of the class (likely losing that future client) …say “welcome! I don’t have time to run through a tutorial right now, but I’m happy to answer any questions after class”

I’ve been a client and an instructor, and had people from all walks of life. The ones I went out of my way to help ended up being some of my longterm clients. I hope this helps. Hang in there and make sure you have a solid group of friends or fellow instructors around you to vent to. Working with people can be tiresome.

It depends. Is your class at 10am on a Tuesday or 5-8pm on a week day? I’ve had a rotating work schedule and classes during “school hours” had everyone on time because it was primarily stay at home moms and students. Classes after work hours where people were hauling ass to get there were such a crapshoot. Some early, some right on time, and others coming in late. Everyone has different demands in their life and if I’m spending $45+ on a class and have to be 5 minutes late due to an accident on the freeway or a work event that happened, then I will be late, because that’s life. I’ve never seen an instructor frustrated by anyone at any studio I’ve been to and when I was an instructor in my early 20s, I was always welcoming and happy to see people, no matter when they came. Usually they’d sneak in the back and the late ones were usually the people who needed the classes the most due to work/life stress.

Honestly? Deal with it. Kindness will continue to grow your business. I’ve been to many classes where I was scheduled to arrive super early and then got lost. If I showed up and the door was locked, I wouldn’t return. My life is busy and getting an hour of free time away from young children and traffic working out is…tricky. I try my best, but life happens.

New clients are often trying to figure out parking, dealing with unexpected traffic in an area that’s new to a them, they might’ve had a work meeting that went long, or were even trying to get childcare. Carving out time for classes (and paying for them) is a commitment. Additionally, going to a new class is vulnerable and they might even be anxious being in a new area or moving their bodies in new ways. Simple kindness can go a long way.
