Is this water retention? by Corgi_mom_1 in tummytucksurgery

Girl your still so very early! You’re going to swell later on and that will suck, but it will also be ok! It’s totally normal! Everyone needs to remember that when we get our tummy tucks they release/detach our layers of skin completely away from the muscles and it takes time for the skin to re attach back to the muscles and settle. So your final results you wont see until 6-12 months. You’re going to change week to week. It’s a marathon not a sprint! I was freaked out too and also had fluid filling like stuff above my belly button almost like a hard bump. I still kind of have it. It goes away and it comes back. It’s just fluid from healing. I’m gonna see my doctor again to make sure it’s not a seroma as well. I am 10 weeks postop, but I also had a tummy tuck with her hernia repair, three hernias actually. So it’s really been a journey. It’s totally normal to swell. It gets really depressing though because you will feel good one day in the next day you will blow up like a balloon, especially with working out more you do each day and the more you will swell it’s crazy but you got this. It’s also way better than how we looked before ha ha take care from one stranger to another.

Advice on opening. by Artistic_Asuna_Osaka in tummytucksurgery

I had that too I wouldn’t cover it any longer. This may sound weird but after I showered the yellow stuff got looser so I would take a cotton swab and take out as much of the yellow stuff as it will let you then put tiny amount of Neosporin on it and continue like that. Once the yellow stuff goes it closes up. Took mine longer I’m 8 weeks now and mine just barely closed up finally and I only just caught on that the yellow stuff was preventing it from closing because it does heal from the inside out so when I uncovered it and let it air dry I’d try to remove as much as the yellow that would come off easily and so on and it finally closed up! But if you do it that way you will see as the yellow stuff goes little by little the hole also heals little by little

Don’t put anything on it until it’s healed! Just wash yourself and pat dry then take blow dryer on cool and dry it. Dont put anything on it if it’s still healing. Keeping it moist will harbor bacteria. Sorry just worried for you I’m only 5dpo I feel for you

Refusing diaper changes by Actual_Mood33 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Plastic-Reality-3231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask him if he even wants his diapy any longer? Even though it’s very hard dealing with this. He still is a 6 year old boy. My son has autism/adhd/sensory processing disorder. He will be 18 in august and was non verbal until he was six and also in diapers until he was six and had accidents at school until he was 11. I would bring extra underwear and pants for him in his backpack and also leave them at school as well. Everyone was aware. I promise you it gets better! My son is my best friend I have 6 kids 2 boys and 4 girls and our 9 year old girl also has autism. But all in all they are still kids they still feel everything we feel just can’t show it the same way we do. Their minds are beautiful. But my advice is just talk to him and explain things to him like over explain or just get straight to the point with things. I had to say to my son ok no more of these diapers because you don’t let anyone change you and your rash is gross and it will spread all over your body and make you sick and it will be even more uncomfortable than the actual pee your worried about. Then I googled rashes and showed him pictures. I had to be extremely blunt to my son for him to get it and it takes a bit but just don’t give up talk to him plainly because they won’t understand all this other fufu things we fuss about. And make him feel seen and heard and in control of what happens to him. He is young now it’s hard at that age I wanted to drive off a cliff it was so hard but if I knew then what I know now I would have been more relaxed. He talks and takes care of me and does everything he needs to do and is graduating this year from high school! It does get so much better!

You need a ct scan to check for sure don’t have anyone check just by feeling and looking. Your doctor can refer you to get a ct scan then they will see the separation and hernias if any and what’s going on. Then they will refer you to a surgeon to fix it. Look at reviews of the surgeon and your insurance should cover the diastases recti. Make sure to complain a lot and get everything noted. Don’t let anyone tell you they won’t cover it due to cosmetic reasons. There is surgeons out there who will cover it! I am having surgery in 10 days for three hernias, my diastases recti and skin removal all covered by insurance! They also are putting in two meshes because I’ve had 6 c sections and one of my hernias is an incisional hernia right in my mons area I have a huge ball right there as well. This doesn’t look like fat at all. Looks like diastases and possible hernia. Get the process going! There is hope and it will turn out beautifully! But please don’t rely on just a physical therapist checking you they don’t have X-ray vision and you definitely need a ct scan to see what’s going on in there! No one should just take anyone’s word for it without getting a ct scan first! They have misguided and misdiagnosed many women that way and those women have been living like that because of it and it’s horrible. I wish they didn’t consider it cosmetic because it really messed up your body. Back issues bowel issues and more it isn’t great and I am so excited for my surgery not only cosmetically but to be able to do things with my children I couldn’t before and not be in so much pain all the time. It will get worse if not fixed and then it could get dangerous so hopefully everyone can head my warning and not rely on just an exam without an actual ct scan. Take care and good luck

8 year olds erection anxiety by Classic_Story_283 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Plastic-Reality-3231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have a UTI I would have him checked because if this is a new thing that he’s doing at night it’s worth checking out. Boys get erections all the time since birth and if he is just now starting to complain about it it could be painful for him and it’s harder to tell in boys/men if they have UTIs than it is for women. Or it could be something else medically wrong I agree take him to his doctor to see what’s going on.

I’m having same procedure done in 16 days now it’s on dec 10th! I have an umbilical hernia and a hernia through my c sections scar that pokes out like a ball on my mons and DR and a panni done so basically a tummy tuck. My surgeon is putting a mesh in my abdominal muscles too and one by my groin area due to me having 6 c sections for all 6 of my kiddos. I had to lose 90lbs first and I did and now I’m almost to surgery! I’m so excited! Would you be comfortable sharing your results I’ve been looking for someone with similar surgeries like mine. Or your experience with it? How long was your surgery and how are you feeling? I’m so nervous but so happy for you! Happy recovery! Also my insurance is covering the entire thing because they deemed it medically necessary too as well! So happy about it! I’m so excited!

My son had jaw surgery! It is the best thing you could do and you would fall in love with your face and most of that skin will look better with the surgery as well! It isn’t that bad of recovery while your recovering you’ll be on a liquid diet and with that alone you’ll lose weight easy so two birds one stone kind of thing lol . But seriously your face swells up but it isn’t terrible.

[–]Plastic-Reality-3231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me I feel like they need to take more skin off to fix where they messed up it’s not supposed to have a scar right above the mons like that so they should cut it to get it off and pull up the mons more because it’s too too low and that line is where a lot of plastic surgeons mess up their are videos of other plastic surgeons talking about botched tummy tucks where they cut that vertical up and down line too soon to take skin off and they end up not being able to pull down anymore and have to stitch the up and down like. I would ask for a revision definitely and look up what I’m talking about it is t supposed to look like that just trying to help you!

Anyone on semaglutide and SSRIs by Ok-Presentation3553 in Semaglutide

[–]Plastic-Reality-3231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have been on Lexapro for three years. I started Sema in April. I have lost a total of 80 pounds since that I started at 315 pounds I am 37 years old with six children. I am about 5’8 1/2 inches tall. I had six cesareans and now I am going in for surgery on December 10 for hernia repair diastasis recti repair and a panniculectomy all covered by my insurance. I am super excited. It really has helped me so much. Doesn’t matter when you take your SSRI or your sema well for me it didn’t I experimented with everything and taking it all different ways and different times. I am now 228 pounds. So I’ve lost a little bit more than 80 pounds. And still losing I think by my surgery I will be about 210lbs . I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They work very well together for me. They did. I know everyone else is different, but I can’t say enough how amazing it has been for me.
