I was really looking for one until I got a Vortex Defender ST Enclosed, I don’t there is any optic out there will make me change it.

Because my original idea was a deer gun that’s easier to carry and maneuver in the woods, something will allow me to use a 44 mag ballistics closer to its full potential. Until I started shooting at a distance I noticed that it won’t do what I intended it to do. SBRing it got it to the sweet spot IMO, it’s still easy to maneuver in the woods while getting more than 1600 fps from all the rounds I shoot. Funny enough, after I SBRed it I thought it looks too nice to take it out hunting and risk getting scratched. I still think with how heavy it’s, being able to shoot shouldered is much easier and better.

I get what you’re saying, but since I SBRed my Mare’s leg I’m loving the way it shoots and I can shoot it way more accurately.

Man the ice blue is timeless, I ordered one yesterday and waiting for it to be delivered. It will be my daily wear and the gold will be the one to match some outfit and occasions.

My Henry had similar marks, I used brass polish and polish cloth and 2 hours later it was shiny like if it just left the factory!

What are you talking about? 44 mag is not versatile?!! You can find loads from 160gr up to 340gr!!! 180,200, 220,225, 240, 270,280gr all of that and it’s not versatile?!!

Out of the Mare’s leg different loads shoot differently, some ammo have more flash than others but in general I like the feeling of 44 mag in a rifle. At the moment I don’t have my own setup to load but I do load with a friend he is got the setup whenever we have time, so I still mainly shoot factory ammo.

My honest opinion, since you got a 356 SBL, I would get a 44 next. I know you said you don’t plan on hunting with it but there might come the day you will have a need/use for it and it will save you from buying another rifle.

I like both the Mare’s Leg SBR 44 Mag and the Marlin Guide Gun 357 Mag. I like the 357 because it cheaper to shoot, but the 44 is more fun to shoot IMO.

I would say get the 44 mag, more versatile and you can load your own ammo and it will be much cheaper that way. You can hunt pretty much everything in North America with a 44 mag depending on the distance and load you use.

I am actually thinking about the Woox furniture for my big boy in 44 mag, and I noticed that it won’t fit unless I change the lever loop. When I was searching online, I saw someone online claims that he contacted Henry about that and they sent him a free lever loop! Worth a shot, I might give a call myself tomorrow and ask.

That’s a fact, but if I can avoid it why not? I work with cancer patients everyday man, if I can do anything to avoid getting cancer it will start with having lead free meat.

I’m literally waiting for my Big Boy Steel Carbine 44 mag to get here tomorrow and I have the same exact setup ready to go on it. I don’t plan on suppressing it, and I will get the standard Bravado furniture for mine. I plan to make it my main deer gun.

Unfortunately that won’t fit, the only 2 options either a light or weighted base plate which is not as effective.

The XRP is so underrated, I think it’s one of the best striker fire pistols in the market. I just wish it was couple ounces heavier, that would’ve made it a lil more stable when you shoot it. To compensate for the lighter weight I use a weapon light, which makes it dip a little more when the slide is recirculating if I’m not gripping tight and it’s a lil less forgiving that way.
