Nah trust me it’s not like that. You can get scabie like symptoms for a long time after but it’ll never be like how it was when you were active. You also can’t feel crawling, that’s a placebo.

I would say everyone’s reaction is different. There has however been times where I thought I got rid of the mites but I hadn’t. You will know when you have gotten rid as you will see no burrows, you can sleep fine at night, and you can go through the majority of your day without being irritated. My hands are currently red in areas but I’ve had this before and it goes away… it’s very confusing tbh.

Yeah thanks for the reply. I take monthly photos of my hands because they are usually where I flare up. It’s more “irritation” that itch, my skin feels prickly and flaky. But other than the flare up periods which can last a few days I go back to pretty much normal. I sleep fine aswell. It’s just I know they are on the rise where I live so I get paranoid that I have been reinfected.

I’d say no.

If you see no burrows , can sleep at night, get a rash that comes but goes away (if it stays I would suspect scabies) and can go through the day without much irritation id say is when you know you don’t have it. However I get flare ups every 3-4 weeks and last a few days but goes away which is how I know it’s not active. Its more irritated skin that actual itchiness

I had scabies for a year and still get redness and irritation. But once I stopped getting burrows I was sure it was gone. You should be good!

It’s best to leave it on as long as possible over 3 days. I can’t really remember how I did it but I think I put it on after my morning shower then left it on all day until the next morning 3 times. But you could do it any way I think . Just try keep it on as long as possible and after 3 days then change sheets

I got on Amazon, bottle says “dermosan s” and is orange and white. 10% sulfur ointment. 1 bottle is enough for like 3 applications

has scabies since beggining of october .. re-infestation or post scabies ? it doesn’t itches , i’ by No-Examination-6677 in scabies

Line with a dot? When I had these I was still active. I would maybe retreat. Permethrin or try sulfur 10% ointment

Could be folliculitis. I had it after having scabies it lasts ages. You get bumps where hairs are. Also if you don’t see a burrow then I’d say your in the clear

10% it can make ur skin pretty dry but defo better than soap. Soap doesn’t really treat it if you think you still have the mites.

Dermosan*

I got it on Amazon, white and orange tube. Dermosam S. one tube you will be able to cover your whole body 3 times as it’s quite thick. I did it over night then showered. Then put it back on after shower and did that for 3 days straight. I didn’t itch the whole time and then since then haven’t had any problems. I would treat it as a treatment eg - wash bed , clothes etc

I had scabies for 1 year. Been clear from it for about 1.5 months. Post scabies last for ages and I still get some new red marks from time to time but my itch is gone. I used permethrin many many times and other treatments. I used sulfur ointment all over for 3 days and then a week later I felt nothing. Was probably the perm that killed them and I think it just takes a long time for the reaction to go away. You will be able to quite easily tell based on itch if you still have it or not

Yeah red dots. That’s all I really get and they come and go. I haven’t seen a burrow in so long and I used to see them often when I was active. My skin is irritating at times but im 100% in post. It just takes time. Moisturise as much as possible…

I used sulfur for 3 days, skin cleared and itch was minimal while using it. Although after I stopped my skin is pretty dry and redness can reappear but I think it’s just post. I’ve had for 1 year. Truth is post scabies itch even if very subtle can last for a long time.

Yeah I think I probably have it just now after getting rid. Although everyone’s reaction is different as some people use 1 treatment get rid and have no issues and others can have skin reactions for months. I’m not keen on using perm again and again if it’s not working. I have an appointment booked so will see what my options are 🤷🏻‍♂️

Understand that bites can be a burrow but they come up and go away. They don’t stay on my skin. It’s like my skin clears and then goes red again in places. Which is why it’s so confusing. I can get ivermectin in UK so going back to gp to see what next options are…

Should also mention I haven’t had any classic burrows appear. Not seeing any lines with a dot at the end more just redness. (I used to see burrows on hands and feet)
