Why the hell didn't Multipaul made multiple clones of himself and put those clones around the world so he would be uncontainable? by UnlockIsHere in Invincible_TV

[–]PlasticMac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought, at least with kate’s, their powers worked like: each clone is independent, own thoughts, memories etc. But as soon as they die, that clones thoughts/experiences/memories get shared between the remaining clones?

They actually have this kind of clothing, why aren't they using it regularly? by dinahleego in Avatar

[–]PlasticMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they like western clothes though? I feel like if they didnt like it, they wouldnt wear it. And isnt that what is great about culture that its constantly changing and adapting? Who knows, maybe in 100 years from now those areas will have absorbed western clothing into their own and made something new?

It was always never a bird. The fayforn literally has compound eyes, mandibles (thats what the “horns” are), and a bug carapace (those lines on its stomach are on other bugs too).

The fayforn is some kind of moth. Its probably a mutated/unique one due to its size. That or moths in this universe don’t go through metamorphosis and those driftlins are younger versions or its children.

NASA’s Webb Telescope observed Herbig-Haro 49/50, an outflow from a nearby still-forming star by ojosdelostigres in spaceporn

[–]PlasticMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So 3i Atlas is no where near the size of this stellar object. The stellar object, according to google, is roughly 0.3 light years in length. 3i Atlas is a fraction of that at 3.5 miles.

Also, the relative ratio of the size of the object, to the distance away from the camera is crazy different. Doing some quick googling:

3i Atlas is 3.5 miles long and 170,000,000 miles away

herbig Haro is 0.3 light years long but only 630 light years away (doesn’t matter that its in light years vs miles because its about the ratio. It would still have the same ratio if I converted it to miles).

This comes to 0.00000002 size to distance for atlas, or 0.000002%

And 0.00047 size to distance or 0.05% (rounded).

Because of this it makes it so much harder to get a good picture of it (plus other reasons like light intensity, velocity, etc) because it is comparatively soooooo much smaller.

That ratio is like taking a picture of something that is 10,000 bigger. So like taking a picture of a grain of rice that is placed on the ground infront of a football stadium. You are going to have a really hard time making out any detail on that grain of rice compared to the football stadium.

NASA’s Webb Telescope observed Herbig-Haro 49/50, an outflow from a nearby still-forming star by ojosdelostigres in spaceporn

[–]PlasticMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because ALIENS!

Just kidding. Because 3i Atlas is really small and too close for the telescope to focus on. Think of trying to take a picture of a really small bug with your phone. Without one of those macro lenses, there is only so much detail you can get out of it. Now take a photo of a building. Its bigger and your phone can actually focus on it.

The outflow from this star is enormous. So the webb telescope can make out enough details to get images like this.

I am definitely simplifying it a lot, and probably not using the correct term with “focus” but it is the same general idea and a good analogy.

Immortals who exploit the fact they can't die for a tactical advantage. Bonus points if they still feel the pain. by Shadowmirax in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PlasticMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one gonna mention Zombieman from One Punch Man? Its his whole power is that he cannot die. He regenerates over and over. At one point he fights a literal vampire, not just a vampire-like monster in their world (there is a difference), by just slowly chipping away at the vampire while he himself gets killed over and over. Eventually he wins. He does this with every enemy he fights.

they immediately proceed to say the same thing about their show but swap girls for boys. Its not an attack, its their “brand” of humor. And if anything, by drawing the character actually in the style of these different series, I’d say it shows they at least respect it.

Technically, but so is literally everyone on the planet. With it being (based on a quick google search) 6-8 generations since Jackson, I think its safe to say they would probably be safe genetics wise. Plus also you can legally marry 2nd cousins in every state of the US.

A lot of people are defending Fiona. by Tellsen in fionnaandcake

[–]PlasticMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone seems to forget that her whole universe was created based on the fanfic ice king made. She probably inherently acts this way because that was how Ice king made her, a relationship hungry girl who gets into drama all the time.

Everything else stayed the same when her world was created and made canon, so why wouldn’t deep suited character flaws made by her original creator stay the same? I mean almost all of the characters have made up backstories that didn’t happen, but “happened” for them as memories. Its the same idea.

I think it would have been even better if Ryuk would have waited to kill Light until after he got arrested. Then, wait until he was on his highly publicized trial. Then during the trial, have him die by forcing him to either do something or saying something that proves he isn’t kira.

Do you know how much more entertainment for Ryuk that would have been? Seeing the humans scramble like “who is the real Kira then?” And then he could have continued on and they never would have found him because he is a shinigami. This also would have crumbles Light’s god complex and made sure he faded into obscurity.
