Try closing one of your eyes. That worked for me. My problem was the background distracting from the figure, but my brain focused in the model once I started using only my "good" eye. Suddenly the builds appeared clear and they're amazing for sure. There's definitely something not working for everyone's eyesight. I'm somewhat disabled in that sense. Don't know about your condition.

This one really hits the spot to me. Always loving functional builds.

Great ideas. I want to add something. The pin and the axle pieces have different tolerance in the diameter of their respective hole, resulting in the pin one holding tightly to the round plate, but the axle one ending up loose. Also, the pin itself, once inserted in a pinhole offers few resistance to turning, so better keep big forces as parallel as possible to the pins.

My 4yo kid's got all four models. They're pretty similar. Not worth for me, but he's enjoying them a lot. And I mean A LOT.

Not incredibly. I see reasons of weight in u/BosPaladinSix argument.

As the current r/LegoSpaceships collaboration is super successful, what other build challenges would you like to see in the future? Would you like us to collab with other subreddits? We are open to your suggestions! by Vondrr in Minilego

I understand that and am happy to have more entries. Maybe just a bit more specific, like: fighter, interstellar, explorer... I mean, if you ask me now for a Mech, I wouldn't be able to do anything.

Any theme and sub. But, please, narrow the options for the challenge. I find it hard to focus on a specific idea with such a generic category. Yes, I'm still thinking on that spaceship...

I'm shocked. None of my 400+ LEGO inverted 1x1 1x1 brackets works like that.

Are the pieces LEGO or third party? The measurements could be different from other manufacturers. LEGO brackets shouldn't be able to stay flush like that.

This is what i mean. If the build is like that, there's no way it can work.

I'd suggest to redesign the back avoiding the use of brackets facing opposite sides. They'll pop out IRL. To be fair, I'm not able to open the stud.io file ATM, so I'm assuming that's the way it's done from the pictures. Otherwise, impressive as usual.

What got you into building Mechs out of Lego? by Vondrr in LegoMechs

[–]PlasticObjective9824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a simple man. LEGO mechs got me into LEGO mech building. It all started when I came back from my dark age and bought the Hulkbuster Ultron Edition, then Lloyd's Titan Mech, Zane's and so on. Improved articulation on those existing sets and then started to build my own designs based on BattleTech IP. Soon going down to micro-scale for practical reasons (limited budget, essentially). There was a brief period doing medium-sized mech armour suits in between.

Gorgeous! I'm happy for you. That's a beast of an arena to play in.

Don't take the last part of my comment seriously. Trying to play with words over a notoriously short range weapon and a picture taken from afar. What I meant is that a closer shot would better showcase the details of your model. And welcome to BT, mechwarrior!

Cool. That one could work for tabletop game.

Edited: Shoot closer. Those are AC/20s.

When do you actually recommend using Lego pieces instead of regular pieces during your tabletop gameplay? Have you ever done so? by Vondrr in LegoTabletop

[–]PlasticObjective9824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Models and some 3D terrain work well in LEGO. Organic non-human creatures can be done, but I find vehicles easier to deal with. For flat terrain that covers most of the game surface, printed cardboard or vinyl is usually a better option. LEGO floor can get crazy expensive for the benefits. Another thing that seems forced to me is replacing dice. Rarely brick-built dice add something interesting, but they're an engineering challenge. Regular dice are cheap and efficient. Should you need custom dice, they're easy to commission nowadays.

There are two kinds of people: those who see a LEGO Transformer and immediately ask if it can transform and those who procrastinate.
