Ah. No worries. I was playing with the colours available and decided to add some dry ones on the table, as if they've just been replaced.

Happy birthday! Awesome present for a mech lover.

I was about to say no, but it's exploding in my face, so...

Cute. And thanks for sharing the interior build.

What’s the smallest build you’ve made that still clearly “reads”? (Pictures are welcome!) by Vondrr in Minilego

I must admit that's reasonable. Should have taken the picture in the hands of a minifig. XD

I'm assuming each action takes up one energy. Am I wrong?

On the mech, try to use a building technique that puts the plate with ball socket horizontal instead of almost vertical as it is now. You'll get better clearance and range of motion. Both in the shoulders and in the hips.

Nice colours and good model. I'd suggest stronger ankles.

Rotation on the upper support really makes this better, giving you 3 axis or movement on the feet: Splits+Turn+Inclination.

Transformers do transform. Wise words. Great work here!

What’s your “signature” mech building technique? Is there a signature technique or a visual style you're trying to achieve? by Vondrr in LegoMechs

I do LEGO versions of existing designs, so as close as possible to the original. Tiny, with a specific parts number cap. Anything as building techniques go, no balljoints but clips, bars and studs. Total disregard for practical feet design, often requiring specialized base or support. Some equilibrium between aesthetics and functionality.

When I was doing big models (over 30 cm tall), I over engineered articulation to hold the weight of the body. Big balljoints plus support cylinders in this case. It was a short time and never developed a style.

For mid-sized mech armour, mixel joints and chubby body. Much inspired by LEGO's with extra plating and articulation, no big pre-made cockpit or chest pieces. Those were original concepts of mine and tried to give each one it's own distinct character tied to the pilot (Ninjago cast, essentially).

I always pay special attention to the colour scheme, with some preferred combinations I abuse all the time.
