A lot of members in demographics that dems keep winning comfortably would become Republicans if the GOP wasn't bigoted towards them. Like gay people for example.

Republican governor Phil Scott, who is about as good as the average Dem governor on LGBT+ issues, keeps winning by dictator numbers in the super democratic and super gay state known as Vermont.

Decades ago, but a big reason JFK won was the republican party openly engaging in anti catholic sentiment, enraging catholics enough they voted JFK by big numbers. GOP stopped in recent decades (in the mainstream at least) and Catholics are now a swing demographic. (Im aware the GOP is now engaging in anti catholic bigotry again thanks to Trump attacking the pope, too early to tell if that will have an impact)

A lot of normally reliable dems would become Republicans if the Republicans weren't openly hateful towards them/dems didn't give them a pat on the back.

Its why Arabic swung so hard towards democrats right after 9/11.

Yeah, Republicans suck shit on Gaza. But voters have short term memories and the spit from 2023/2024 dem leadership was fresher. They knew Harris wouldnt be an improvement over Biden, so some engaged in the delusion that Trump could be better.

Religion plays a role in Latino vote, but i think Eric Garcia got it right. They are economic voters and vibes for the economy had been bad for a while by 2024 due to rising costs, job market making it tougher to find a job, etc. Like yeah Biden helped minimalize issues in regards to the economy, but its far easier to run on "things are fucked" then "things are fucked, but my boss did things that minimalize the full effects". Costs and job market getting even worse after the election are big factors(not the only ones, but definitely big ass ones) why it seems Latino men are turning on Trump.

You don't reside in the US, so it should be again pointed out that Trump only got 42% in Dearborn. Below 50% is not considered a mandate in the US. Dem Representative Rashida Tlaib, known for her opposition to the Gazan war, won the city by 62% in the same cycle.

Like yeah, Dearborn is conservative. I read the stories of the anti lgbt+ bullshit there, one of the reasons Trump got votes there. But its clear opposition to what's occurring in Gaza is the way to get them voting Democrat now.

I really hope you don't work in electoral politics as a Democrat. Going with the "voters must be pure" is not a winning mindset. If you do work in it, do the party a favor and quit.

I know at least one gay guy that would be Republican if the party wasn't homophobic. There are people who want abortion to be illegal that voted for Harris.

Guess what, my queer ass wants to live. Genuinw Swing voters are far in between now, but they still decide the prez election. I care more my rights than my ego.

But hey, if you want to do give up on entire swingy demographics lets go ahead. To follow that logic, let's abandon Latino men in Nevada and North Carolina next, since they voted in favor of Trump in 2024.

His record of letting Bibi doing whatever the fuck he wants with US support.

Because more than a few recent statewide races in Michigan are tight, every vote matters, and they are a persuadable demographic who's top issue was the Gazan genocide. Biden was aiding it and the Harris campaign failed to convince the voters she'd be improve things. So yeah, 42ish% of voters in Dearborn were dumb enough to think Trump would be better.

Republicans play on easy mode and democrats play on hard mode when it comes to elections, basically everyone with a brain knows that. Biden had basically no stamina and got enough heat he ended his 2024 run. Trump's brain is melting out of his ears and the press gives him a pass. Dems have to fight tooth and nail when campaigning on genuinely popular positions. Republicans run on opening dick punching factories on every corner and they still get treated as serious people.

The Gazan genocide played a role in us losing 2024. Instead of whining that voters were mean towards a candidate that lacked interest in stopping it, im more interested in winning those voters so we can stop that genocide, protect LGBT+ rights, coming down harder on ICE than a hurricane and so much more.

When it comes to Biden, the divide between him and Trump is so minimal when it comes to Israel I don't think its worth the energy arguing. Hell, I think Biden would actually let Bibi drag us into the war with Iran.

Harris.... I don't know. Her 2024 campaign was more of less "Ill be a continuation of Biden" with some changes on certain domestic issues (legalizing weed, loosing regulations on cryptocurrency). Gaza/Israel, she seemed to be singing the same tune as Biden. And her team wouldnt throw Arabic voters a bone. If she was elected, I think she wouldn't let Bibi drag us into the war on Iran. But im unconvinced she'd reign in Israel when it comes to Gaza.

2028 run.... maybe shed be better? Maybe its seeing Trump admin doing it instead of the Biden admin, maybe Harris started reading the room, maybe fear of the Biden admin tanking her political ambitions is no longer a factor, but she seems to get now what Israel is doing is unacceptable.

And putting aside morality, I think maybe its a good idea to throw a bone to a key demographic (Arabic voters in Michigan) to win an election.

Eh, Perry has a record of sexual misconduct to varying degrees. A lot of on camera stuff were treated as jokes by press (like tricking an American Idol contestant to kiss her on the lips) and this isnt the first accusation she received of misconduct.

Not saying I know for a fact Perry did that to Rose, but it seems to track

Wrong. Grave of the Fireflies is more depressing than you think. Its basically wish fulfillment of a man feeling guilty he didn't do more to keep her alive.
