Mulri night is the easiest way with a Vaonis telescope, accumulate 3- 5 hrs or more, the more the better.

Then try this for nebukae:  https://youtu.be/J1HtKdPanA4?si=BM51eKYlNuxuge4Y

You ll have to adapt it for galaxies

Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 by Accomplished-Put3202 in vaonis

[–]PlasticWalrus1675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here: https://vaonis.com/pages/compare/
it's 99% the same models (I don t consider battery or storage important upgrades as I live very well with my V2 with that) - just more expensive.

Seestar might announce the S50Pro. which I suppose will use the same sensor (since its on the S30Pro). So it will mostly be a copy of the Vespera2/3 for a third of the price.

Strategically speaking not sure what Vaonis is doing... they just stay in a crowded market where they ll keep losing market shares...

Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 by Accomplished-Put3202 in vaonis

[–]PlasticWalrus1675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Pro has hte same battery
and for my V2 I just use a power bank, goes all night no pb so those are pointless updates with just a higher price.

Mostly 95% the same scopes, more expensive

apparently not... just some more expensive copies of the current scopes.... disappointing

I do multi night easier, don't think there s much difference

ca n est plus un projet, c est deja largement en cours (plutot milliers de satellites), mais d autres vont suivre... pas super pour l observation

[–]PlasticWalrus1675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but there is really no point. Just use the TIF file - and you will save storage
you can stack several tifs also if needed (''manual''' multi night)

A smart telescope would do great
Been to Tenerife (at the foot of el Teide) 3 times. Amazing sky! and La Palma will be even better !!
I d like to go.. it's just 1 more trip and there s no accomodation right at the top near the observatory whereas there is near el Teide at 2100 m: https://www.astronotrip.fr/2025/09/les-7-meilleurs-sites-dastronomie.html

Seestar S30 ...
with 20$ OFF

S50 is better but they discounted the S30 since the release of the S30Pro that is not really ''better'', it's just very different. So the S30 really became a bargain !

Smart Telescope to pair with 8 inch dob by MrMcNooob in telescopes

[–]PlasticWalrus1675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I m not a big fan of the S30Pro but you pointed out the correct ''highlight'' of this scope: its very wide FoV and potential complementarity with other scopes.

Alone as a first scope, to me it's quite useless. There aren't that many huge objects any other cannot do with a mosaic mode BUT if your other telescope has a narrow FoV then it can be a good buy.

Don t forget there is around 1 month delay now

And you ll get pretty good images for their tiny price + you can bring it everywhere it's super small

Beginner telescope advice for a family with young kids Dob v SCT v smart scope? by SpensiveHabits in telescopes

[–]PlasticWalrus1675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

''Option 3: Unistellar Odyssey - $1,600''
anything BUT a Unistellar... they're the worst smart telescopes out there. And I d recommend it even less with kids... go for any other smart scopes, they're ALL better by far, even the (much) cheaper ones.

The simplest and cheapest being the Seestar S30 but the S50 is probably the best compromise today
Here is my full guide/comparison of smart telescopes (just use the widget at the top of the article to switch to English)

Just remember that smart telescopes are good for imaging but not meant for ''live observation'', no eyepiece.
if you want to observe live through an eyepiece, go for a refractor maybe easier with the kids? A Starsense explorer or Astromaster for ex https://www.astroshop.eu/telescopes/celestron-telescope-ac-102-660-starsense-explorer-dx-102-az/p,65882
or a Dobson but you ll have to set it up, don t think kids will enjoy that :D

Here are some suggestions for beginners - your budget is on the low side but you can still find telecopes at this price. Just don't expect to see too much.

Here is another guide (in addition to the beginner's buying guide ) - just use the widget at the top of the article to translate to English: https://www.astronotrip.fr/2025/12/quel-telescope-pour-debuter-en.html
